I had a session with my therapist on Thursday (my girlfriend's mother attended it with me) and my therapist vocalized the fact that she believes I'm bipolar. Right now it's on (Rule out) along with my diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder... But others have taken note of my horrendous mood changes that happen without warning or without reason. They sometimes last for a few weeks; sometimes they happen within the same day.. Right now I believe I'm in a state of mania (or hypomania), due to my speed-ed up and irritated state...I spent like...60 dollars on comic books...I feel foolish; but I can't stop.

Therapists and Psychiatrists often take numerous visits or more to actually make the diagnosis of Bipolar, and that is a good thing. I would hope your therapist advised you to do a mood chart. It often can show cycles.

It's also a good idea to have a routine physical just to make sure there isn't a physical reason for the moods.

Are you able to speak freely to your T while having your girlfriends mother sitting there? I couldn't, My husband came once with me and I sat there wondering what he would think if I said X Y or Z lol .. Just make sure you feel comfortable enough to be completely honest.

Good Luck and post here all you want, ask any questions you have.

Yeah spending sprees are common when being hypo/manic. Not good to carry a credit card while manic.

I've been seeing my therapist and my psychiatrist since I was 14...I'm 21 now, but they only started speculating that I may have Bipolar Disorder...about a year or so ago. I've never had a physical for it; but maybe i should look into that. She never suggested the mood diary to me; but I think that's a good idea. I should start doing that .

Yeah; I was able to talk freely, because I'm very comfortable with my gf's mother...she's very helpful when I have a problem She only came that one time though...she's supposed to come with me on my next p-doc visit on the 28th. Thanks for your reply; I really appreciate it ^_^

Yeah; I went a little crazy with my debit card...I feel bad; but I couldn't help it ;_; I don't think it'll cause any harm this time though...I just need to tell someone when I'm feeling this way so they can say "NO! No buying sprees!"
lol
