What is the transition period like?
I've never had a full blown mania. Does hypo come first and when do you know you've gone past the hypo stage ?

transition? what the he.ll is that?
sorry no help here, but you are supposed to be able to catch the mania early. I can be hypo and then back to stable or drop, sometimes into full mania, but it's not usually a recognizable transition... what fun. I'm sure you'll get some better answers. It is a great question. |

It sure is a great question. I don't think I have the answer either, because I'm still unsure if I've ever had a full-blown manic episode, although I did have something last summer that went far beyond my customary hypomania. No psychosis, no acting on my wilder impulses, but I was as wired as I used to get on amphetamines back in the day, and I had NO control whatsoever as to what came out of my mouth because I didn't give a $&@!.
I'm still dealing with the consequences of that little adventure. But could I say with any certainty when what had been an enjoyable and productive time turned into a nightmare? Not a chance. Hope someone else has more insight. I'm curious myself.

I have been Hypo and it never falls into my version of Mania .
Also I have gone to bed ok , then woke in the morning in a mean anger filled Mania. Everyone is different, unique. If "your" Mania is a type that will disrupt your life you need to be in touch with your doctor and make out a " care plan" basically a list of things to do if you get into a crisis. Good Luck

I noticed I couldn't do my work when the mania was kicking into high gear. I do remote tech support.
Then the next thing you know you are sort of in a dream. But the difference is like a rocket launch.
