Well I went to my apt today and they ended up putting on a mood stabilizer! I am hopeful it will help. I have tried it at the age of 12 and it scared me so bad I refused to try it again. I have been desperate lately and decided to let the doc take over and just do what he says. So round 2 with lithium....praying for some relief.

A friend of mine took that when we were 14. Hopefully it works for you!

It's still the benchmark for treatment of bipolar illness. Just be sure to stay well-hydrated, eat well, keep a regular sleep schedule, and you probably will get along fine.

It may not be a long-term medical choice, but until you feel the need for a different one (and you'll know) it's first choice among many psychiatrists when starting treatment for bipolar illness.

Has your aunt shown any impovement, Extremebipolar1?

Thank you for your advice genetic. I am trying to just take it a day at a time. My Aunt has been taken off sedation this morning and she still hasn't woke up yet. She wrinkled up her forehead as if she were in pain and that's all that she's moved so far. We still need prayers for her and our family.
