I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 14. I am now 19. I haven't been on any meds because my mom doesn't believe it. Now that I am legal age to take care of it on my own, I would like to know what to do to prevent the most severe symptoms. I am taking vitamin B-complex and exercising. but i haven't been doing that much which isn't' good i know. so do i need to keep doing that to get the best results? or do i need to do other things as well? and also is their a psychiatrist on this site that I can talk to to help me better?

Hi madhouse complex, keep doing what you are doing, but you need to see a psychiatrist or community mental health professional. Community mental health can help you get on the track to see pdoc/ therapist. I have not heard of a psychiatrist who does counselling on a regular basis here. There are talks about response to PC member questions during the week.

It is a question and answer type of talk in the chat room. You may require more than that, but a few questions could be asked at the talk. It is usually during the week, check the PC calendar.

And the PC members here can offer their experience and you ask question by private messaging. We welcome you here madhousecomplex.

Your other post said you're choosing med free. A pdoc/psychiatrist mainly prescribes meds and doesn't traditionally offer much for talk therapy. You may want to find a psychologist, therapist or counselor instead, plus they charge less.

I would try a therapist, full spectrum lights helps w depression. Karate has helped a lot for aggression and a bed buddy/significant other/toys help keep me out of trouble when manic.
