I figure this is true for most people.

But for me I feel it's almost impossible. I can't seem to switch gears from weekend to Monday. Tuesday I do better, I think because it takes me all of Monday. By Friday I am doing okay, then weekend comes and I have to start all over.

I set goals and try to get my brain on track. But I feel like I hit a wall every morning....

Just need to vent, I guess.

I'm starting to notice the more I struggle with having to focus, the more irritable I become. I get really frustrated and short. I just want to scream. Being unable to concentrate is making it hard for me to do anything, including fun things I really enjoy. So I think it is starting to really get on my nerves when I get interrupted or when I really have to focus on something.

I just feel completely helpless like right now, at the end of the day. I just need to get out of here or I'm going to scream.

I usually gets more depressed on Sundays night than Mondays. Everything seems to be so calm.. it gets to my nerves. Often I am unable to sleep because of this and sleep most of the Sunday to keep awake at night and manage to stay awake until Monday night.
Today I had no problem however. I did what I have to done properly. It helps a lot when you don't get stressed because of work. However, I wish I had a job.

Mondays are certifiably awful for me as well. For some reason pretty much ALL of the meetings I'm involved with at work take place on Mondays. AND I'm the analyst so I'm expected to speak in a somewhat coherent way.

I TOTALLY hear you on the irritability front. The 2nd meeting I had today I even went to far as being snappy with my boss. (I later felt the need to apologize.) Kept trying to talk to correct what people were saying and EVERYONE kept interrupting me.

You are so not alone. I'm only "productive" being I'm pretty much forced to be that way.

In terms of TRUE unproductivity though, I have this stupid superstition about Tuesdays. I'm not even kidding.

So I got home and it's time to make dinner. The baby won't leave me alone when I get home because he's missed me all day. So, he stands there in the kitchen while I cook.

Anyway, there were a lot of unwashed dishes in the sink, and I needed the sink. So I was trying to rearrange things so I could clear the sink and get everything washed while the oven heated. But then, a bunch of dishes I must have put in a bad place, because suddenly they were all falling on the floor! The baby screamed, terrified, and ran away. I tried to stop him, but he kicked a plate that was broken.... and he got a very small cut on his toe.

It was bleeding so bad, I was terrified he would need stitches. But it took all 3 of us (me, mother-in-law, and husband,) to get him so we could bandage his toe. Then, once that was done, the bleeding stopped pretty quick and he was 100% fine. I guess he's just a bleeder.

I went outside to the porch once it was all over (we have an enclosed porch,) and cried I was so shaken. I didn't really calm down fully until after 8 p.m. and barely slept even though I was exhausted.

Hugs!!!

I think anyone who's a parent AND has to deal with what we have to deal with can completely relate.

I'm so glad the baby ended up being ok and that he didn't need stitches. I think anyone would have reacted exactly the same way. I once had a "moment" like that involving my daughter touching her hand on the inside of the hot oven door. It took me a few months before I even used the oven again.

On the bright side... it's not Monday anymore.

dark heart,

sorry that mondays are the lowest functioning days for you... mine are sundays (still not quite sure why, but always been sundays!)

but i'll share here what i shared in another thread:

ages ago (before i even found this forum) a group of us started what's known as be good to yourself monday

it's what it says on the tin.. when monday comes around, you treat yourself- do something you wouldn't usually do on the other days
it works to make the switch from the weekend to the week..
Thanks for this!

Sis I'm so sorry your Monday sucked wetrabiddogass!
I annoy my colleagues on Mondays because for some reason its the day I'm chipper and have an annoyingly sunny disposition! But my achilies is Thursdays.... that day just seems to drag to no end, and I'm usually lethargic and barely coherent. Lucky I'm a great actress so people always think I'm paying attention to whatever. And if all else fails I feign illness, usually a headache that makes me dizzy so they know I'm working / functioning at a different pace.

LOL. Shhhh. Dont tell my boss ok?

I'm glad baby's ok. Jordan has freaked me out really badly twice, once when she was 2, she fell and chipped her tooth and her mouth was gushing blood. And the second time early last year when she got 11 stitches in her head. I still wanna cry everytime I brush her hair and see the scar...
Sorry, my point was your reaction to your hurt baby is understandable

I just feel completely off....

I'm not all here. I don't know where I am but I"m not all here. There's too much in my head.

I need a break.

Is it the season change? Everything feels liek it's stirring around in my head.

Full moon DH... a priestess is especially affected by the moon... a warrior priestess fighting to conform to the business world to feed her family in this day and age society... she's the unknown hero... but she doesn't give up.

disclaimer: just imho
