When a simple tidy of the coffee table turns into an all-out flat re-organization.

when sometimes every thought in your head is paranoid, fearful. . . then later, every thought in your head is absolutely amazing. . . when you can look back over a life full of both personal solid accomplishments and failures, more extreme than most of your friends and family. . . .when you are still crying, or laughng. . . .after everyone else stops. . ..when you are on a meds cocktail, and you don't feel any extreme emotion of either elation or depression, or even anxiety, because you feel nothing, nothing, and you are so flat, so without energy that you can barely move. . . .when you can tell that many people truly enjoy your company and care for you, and others are leery or scared, all in an unusual way, and sometimes they're all from the same group of people. . . .when you really need to get out of yourself, your illness, you've developed coping skills. . . .but you're just stalled, scared, though you no there's no real payoff for you or anyone else, for you to remain in this place. . .when you really care for someone or about something but just find yourself immobile. . . .when feeling well, you may sometimes feel ashamed or embarassed about that bipolar self, and don't really want anyone to speak of the elephant in the room. . . .and when you can't just seem to either say anything or get the words out, or you're so incredibly verbose, people are running scared. . . . .and on and on. . .. . .

When for months you have nothing to do with your friends as the lows of depression hit. Then when you "come back" it's as if you never left in your mind because your love for your friends never left. However your friends see it quite differently

When you know that Lexapro is not some 2020 model of Lexus.

When you know that Abilify is not a misspelling of ability.

When you are at a definite advantage in the game of scrabble.

When you forget that you told someone a story until they inform you that it's in fact the 4th time you've told them in the last few days.

When you start a whole bunch of stories at once because they're great ideas, but then get tired of writing them by the end of the week and wonder what on earth you were doing that for.

When you can't understand why your partner, family and friends don't think your ideas are very good, because you know they're brilliant.

When you're rearranging your sock drawer at two in the morning and get upset with your husband when he wonders out loud why the hell you're doing it.

When all the colors are vivid oranges and bright blues and sunny yellows, and everything is BEAUTIFUL and you love EVERYBODY and life is just peachy-keen WONDERFUL!!

When everything being sold on eBay seems like a good idea to buy.

When you purchase an entire outfit or 5 from eBay that is in 4 sizes too small because you just know in 2 months you will shed the weight on the new diet you have come up with.

When you site down with your nurse and she asks to see everything you have bought in the last week and its covered the living room floor in small sizes including those 6 inch heeled pvc boots (that don't fit and you could not walk in them anyway) that you bought to look good on the school run.
Perfectly said and a mirror image of myself..... Oh, eBay, how you keep my wallet clean! (and in the minus, lol)

When you 'realise' you have cured yourself of your bipolar

When having sex with the wives of all your friends sounds like a really good idea and not understanding why this upsets them

You begin listing your kid's grade school painting on eBay because you just know they are going to be famous one day.

You go to church and find yourself giving a hour long testament to how God has made you so smart.

You mow your lawn by using scissors.

You decide to see how many things your SUV can run over.....for instance that two foot wall at the 7-11.

Hugs to all!

When I talk thru the forest here, the sun absorbing into my skin, everything is so green and lush, I feel one with nature, animals and birds seem to flock to me and then I see a beautiful red squirrel close by, then I know I am bipolar.

Then it says to me 'Luke, I am your father', then I know i'm delusional!

You know you're Bipolar when you spend years not believing you are human and that you are a demonic beast that spits filth as it speaks and drools food as it eats. You know you're Bipolar when you believe you are going to kill your kids, that you will kill them, that they are not safe with you and you are an unfit Mother, even though you love them with all of your heart. You know you are Bipolar when you spend thousands of pounds on ridiculous things your family really do not need. You know you're Bipolar when you are sleeping with other men although you love your husband and family and don't think you are doing anything wrong. You know you are Bipolar when you think you are being followed by a silver car for two weeks - why the hell would that happen? You know you are Bipolar when you can't shut up, people look at you strangely because you say odd things. You love everybody and you are so high you could burst and then the bubble breaks and you are a dead person once more.

This is too awesome not to contribute!

You know you're Bipolar when:
  • You're so depressed that you space out watching documentaries / tv series while eating a whole jar of Nutella / honey with a spoon, almost every day.
  • You take antidepressant medicine for 30 days and all of a sudden everything switches from night to day and you're the happiest person in the world who never needs any sleep. All of a sudden you're completely addicted to what ever you're doing until... you reach a point of paranoid delusion and extreme psychotic panic and decide that killing yourself would be a good idea to 'save the world'.
  • You know all too well how annoying it is to fall asleep with the sun in your face while birds are chirping happily to a new day.
  • You have to cancel your appointments or skip school because you didn't sleep last night and now you're dead tired.
  • You find it impossible to save any money because the only thing you can manage to put in your stomach is really expensive organic yoghurt and food bars.
  • You have insanely high aspirations but can't ever seem to accomplish your goals.
  • ...
Woo... Bipolar is rough! I was just diagnosed.

I once found myself standing on top of the stove, cleaning the tops of the kitchen cupboards with ammonia at 3 am.

[QUOTE=Angelic73;3232295]When you get up at 5am on a day you could have slept till 10am and decide to rearrange the living room on your own.

And then plan in detail how you are going to redecorate the living room and the rest of the house (with little money left in the bank from the last spending spree).

When you decide all the furniture that's downstairs should be upstairs, and that all the furniture upstairs should be downstairs and you move it all by yourself in one day while your husband's at work.

You stay up 24 hours at a time just cause you have a hell of a lot to do.
You tell yourself that lying about it is just a lot more convenient than dealing with the truth.
You get tired of being right all the damn time!
