I just finished doing a mindful yoga guided meditation cd. It was great! I feel so relaxed and in touch with myself right now. I think this is something I will add to my daily routine. I am surprised how much I enjoyed it and how relaxed and happy I feel now I love it when I find new things that work for me.

Has anyone else discovered some new healthy coping techniques lately?
Thanks for this!

Speaking of yoga I have been going to a yoga studio to practice hatha yoga. There is a yoga studio directly across my house and I went there for the first time last Wednesday and it was free because it was my first time I love the studio and the instructor is super nice. I look forward to going to the studio weekly

Awesome! Very convenient being across the road

I have tried yoga in the past but never got into it as much as I did with this tape. The breathing usually made me more anxious but the way he explained it made it much easier for me.

I'm glad it is helping you. I have found yoga and mediation vital for my well being so being able to go to a studio is great for me. I'm hoping going out to do yoga and being with someone will help reduce my winter depression. Yoga also helps with anxiety too so that's a great benefit for you. When I got out of the yoga class on Wednesday I was so relaxed and calm, it was such an amazing feeling and I'm so happy it helped so much.

I have really only just discovered meditation. I had it pushed on me a lot over the years but everytime I did a tape or tried on my own I got so anxious about the breathing, they were all so focused on the breathing. I'd usually end up having a panic attack (embarassingly).

The mindfulness body scan cd was the first one that didnt make me freak out. I did get a little anxious a few times during it but the more I do it the less anxious I get so I am trying to do it every day. Then the mindfulness yoga - well I just seemed to get it! I went with it and let myself be relaxed, it was lovely.

Jon Kabat-Zinn Guided Mindfulness and Mindful yoga. I got it from a friend who got it online. Im sure there are many others out there and this is the first for me but I will now be keen to try others.
