Hello!

So I was wondering how to ask people for help. People are always willing to help me, but at the end of the day they always ask "What can I do to help you?". I don't know how to respond to this. Mostly I don't know HOW they can help me.

Do you guys have any idea's or experiences that might help?

Monday I'm going to talk to my AP lit teacher, but I'm not exactly sure what to say. I also need to make sure I draw the line, and remember she is my teacher, but my therapist, or my friend.

Thanks for your idea's and thoughts!

I dunno. I always think of things like, "Can you drive me to the psych ER and stay with me when I need it?" But that's a bit much to ask I know.

It really depends on what you need at the time and who is offering. An adult can be a good person to talk to about things you dont think your friends or parents would understand (depends on the adult), a gf or bf could be good for just chilling with and trying to think of something besides your problems. One of the reasons I was called emo mom, besides my son naming me it, I used to talk to the kids on an MCR fansite (I am a huge Ray Toro fan) who wouldnt talk to adults in their own lives. Sometimes I just want someone to go to lunch with me, ya know?
Thanks for this!

i'm far too shy too ask anyone.

comes from how no one ever helped me- no one ever listened to me- that kind of thing

what i usually do, is if someone sees i need help and asks.. do you need help with that?. i'm like, yeah... sure. thanks.

well, eventually i am anyway

When I ask for help it is when I am depressed, I can take on the world when I am hypo. I might ask for help with booking appointments, doing the dishes, extra help with work, just trivial things that will make my life a lot easier and reduce the stress. My support network are very good at offering help when they notice I am slipping, but I am also useless at hiding my mental state from them.
Thanks for this!
