LAst night I was sooooo wired, I felt like pacing around the room and even started rocking to calm myself.

At one point I was lying down 'attempting' sleep, when I thought I heard a voice - I don't remember the word uttered - it felt like it was coming from outside yet inside my head - was freaky!!!
is this psychosis?

it scared me sooo much that I was tempted to wake up my husband, but didn't want to tell him. Has anyone had this happen?
feel like i am losing my mind!!! just started meds 2 d ago (lamictal) - could it be meds?

This has happened to me at night in early psychosis. I would talk to your husband today so that you don't have to suffer alone tonight. If you can talk to doctor or nurse about the symptoms and meds today as well so you sleep better tonight.

To be honest I get this a lot when I'm just drifting off to sleep when I am stressed or high. I hear my name being said or knocking on my front door or the door bell going off....there is never anyone there.

Sounds like you have agitation, anxiety and the possibility of a bit of psychosis popping through. Speak to your pdoc and as the previous commentator said, confide in your husband if you feel brave enough.

I just got through a psychosis and mine started with pacing, sweating, and crying and then finally a hallucination. Mine accelerated fast and a month later, I checked myself into a hospital. I would get help if you feel like it's a possibility. At least talk to a pdoc. Please. Before it gets worse. And I agree, confide in your husband. Mine was great to talk to during my psychosis.

And I know it's hard to believe, but psychosis does end. Don't be afraid, you will feel better!

Yes, this has happened to me when trying to fall asleep. ,I heard two men talking so loud I couldn't hear myself think. I believe it is called a hypnagogic hallucination, and is not that uncommon. My pdoc says if it happens only when you are falling asleep,or just waking up then it is not psychosis.

Hope this helps.

If you're in the almost-sleep state or just waking up, it isn't considered psychosis. It's scary though!
