well i havent been on here for a while due to my bipolar. well update. my intestinal problems were caused by the lithium so they put me on depakote and i had a reaction to it. then they put me on geodon and i had another reaction. well now im on zyprexa.

well my moods have been up and down. i was in the er due to a SI wound to the wrist. and been in and out of the ER all month due to meds and depression.

I feel like this disorder is winning. I try to be happy and it just doesnt work. Im so messed up that my friendships have been suffering. I tell my docs about this and they dont act too worried. What am i suppost to do? How can i defeat this monster inside me and gain control over my self?

Keep trying with the medication. Sometimes it takes lots of experimenting to find something you can tolerate that will help. If you're docs aren't listening, don't hesitate to find a new doc. Sometimes it takes some shopping around to find a doc that you can work well with - but don't give up on all docs just because your current ones aren't working out for you. Remember, just because someone is a trained professional doesn't mean they are good at their job.

Be the squeaky wheel until you find someone that will help you. And keep telling them it isn't working until they find something that will. Keep telling them what parts of your life are suffering until they realize how worried you are about it. Good luck and try to have patience. Things will get better and you can get it under control.

(((Blackdragon)))) I think all of us in this forum know exactly how you feel, and I too, have felt it like a monster over me soemtimes.
I wish you can find the help you need, either on the meds or with your doc.

Dera black dragon,
It does sound like a rollarcoaster ride. medication changes side effects...this sounds really hard to handle and I am sorry that some of your friends are not hanging in there for you.
Is there a local support group at the hospital or clinic that meets on a regular basis to gather some more support?
I found a support group for persons with mental health issues and it was very very halpful.
I wish you well.
((((HUGS))))
