Make it Positive.

I'm moving to Florida, I'm moving to Florida, I'm moving to Florida, I'm moving to Florida, and I'm excited! and the best part is my whole family is too! My mom & Dad, Sister's families, Sister in-laws family, my mother and father in-law! We all haven't been in the same state in 11 years and we're all moving to the same area! Miguel will be surrounded by family as a pre-teen, teen, something we wanted all along but couldn't have. Aug. - September of 2014 expect me to sound like a kid getting ready for Christmas.

Whoop whoop! I'm so happy to hear that the move will be a positive one!!

Me? I've decided to find a half day job, that way I have a much bigger chance of sticking with it long term and less "overwhelming in over my head, I can't breath, I feel trapped" meltdowns...

Also, I've decided to give therapy a shot, will be going to the clinic on Wednesday. Only downside is I have to pretend to take their drugs in order to see a T, so I will be requesting Tegretol, because I have been on it, know what type of feedback to give the pdoc and there's no blood tests involved like when I was Lithiumed...

That's great MM

Something that people may not know about me is that I plan on going into radiology. If I keep up the good grades I will be applying this year to the program I want to go in.

D'oh! Somehow auto-switched pages and lost my reply!

MM - that's exciting!!!

Trippin - bahah! I think it's nuts that Ts can demand that you have to be on meds. Good luck though!

fox - great ambition! Good luck!

As to me....

1) I collect antique cameras, coins, and rocks (that I collect when I travel). Oh. And shot glasses, but I don't do shots (also only collected when I travel). You'd be surprised how many antique dealers are shocked when in comes a 20-something girl and she asks to look at the cameras or coins - I've had like... hour long conversations... with different dealers about their collection, to the point that they're showing me things and going "Yeah, I know you can't afford this buuuuttt...." and then telling me all about it. I even once had a dealer flat out go "You know.. that is the LAST thing that I would have thought you'd ask about. Don't be offended but it's very unique for a girl your age to want to look at coins and not the jewellery! I don't have my whole set here or out, but come back after you've gone around the rest and I'll show you them!" Which he did. And then took me to a friend of his a few tables away to get out a book about coins to then show me the history of one of the coins I'd just bought.

2) I love to travel. It is one of the few things that I can do where I don't feel uncomfortable or nervous. And I almost always travel solo.

I am a handbag addict. I'm always scouring Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Goodwill, etc for discounted bags. My favorite brands are Coach, Betsey Johnson, and Michael Kors.

One of my favorite things is modes of transportation---I've ridden an elephant, flown in a helicopter and a hot-air balloon, been in an old-fashioned stagecoach and a horse-drawn carriage, ridden in a limousine, traveled by boats, planes, trains, automobiles, and a rickshaw.

I'm a thrift store shopper. Even if I had a lot of money, even rich I would shop at thrift stores for my clothes. There is something about buying items, getting to the cash register with an armful of stuff and the register says $8.50. I hyperventilate at this point!

I have one daughter that is my pride and joy. She is the one thing I've done right in my life. I was a stay at home mom and enjoyed everyday I had with her. She is now 38 and a school counselor.

I'm known as the person "full of useless information". I know random facts that I tend to spout out at random times.

I still know the Pythagorean Theorem, the Quadratic Equation, and how to properly diagram a sentence. IDK why, I just do... gotta love the way my brain works!

make it positive huh?

well as only one person on here knows, I met someone on-line, and after reading her autobiography I was very touched. so much so that all my issues and problems (very real ones) and even my impending total renal failure pale to insignificance in the face of what she went through.

so here is the positive: I would gladly give my last breath to see this woman happy.

Great thread!

I'm also a literary translator -translate fiction from Spanish to English, a couple of publications under my belt.

Also have translated films. A million years ago, while living and teaching in Spain, I translated the Spanish subtitles of a Russian film (via transcribing them from a projector) into English for this film that opened an International Film Festival. But I also had to dub it for the English-speakers in the audience. I sucked at it, I mean really bad, but the shots of Russian vodka a friend brought me during the dubbing took away any embarrassment I may have felt -and may well have improved my performance! (Just recently reminded of this from an old movie poster I found from the Festival) --Good times!

I absolutely love to fish with my husband!! It is something we both enjoy and can do together without having to talk. When we get on the water or by the pond, nothing but nature and catching fish matters. So relaxing

I used to sing at a lot of local events for quite a few years.

I played Sandy in Grease at CT's biggest theatre for 7 days, THREE days after I watched Catz there on that very stage
