So sleeping is an issue. Has been for weeks. How do I keep myself occupied? Any ideas. Just done a two hour walk with the dog and still can't settle. I hate the fidgets ! Katx

Sleeping is a pissing issue for me tonight I'm so frustrated! Usually I get the wrong coping methods out but I'm trying to regain control of myself again. Currently listenin to piano classics to calm my mind but it's nt working - it's like I have restless leg syndrome or something, in up for work in a few hours

I lie in bed and watch netflix on my phone. It's probably not a good way to handle it, but I frequently have insomnia and that's what I do.

I park it on my butt and refuse to move. Ideally, I will do that in bed.
Most of the time, it is on the couch watching Netflix. Or reading in bed. I try to not feed the need to be busy all night, even though it's usually what I want. If I do cave... it's usually to clean.

When I'm like that I usually watch music videos I like on youtube - with headphones on since my normal family are usually fast asleep

I guess I can say I check this forum, considering it's 4:22 right now and that's what I'm doing.

Reading boring things while listening to white noise generator helps. Writing down everything that's on my mind helps. Doing yoga helps. Drinking tea and taking a shower helps.
Do I usually do these things? Naahhhhh lol I want to go play games or create something or come on here. But I'm trying to change that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My psychiatrist has said that no matter how hard it is for me to actually sleep, I am supposed to lie in bed for at least 8 hours every night (since I'm supposed to get that much sleep). Even if I wake up at any point, or am struggling to go back to sleep, I lie in bed until my alarm goes off. Sometimes I practice deep breathing and/or mindfulness. That can help calm me down. At other times, I'll sneak in an extra clonazepam

When I can't sleep I read in bed using a reading light. It works after a few hours; and I'm already in bed which is advantageous because I'm drowsy and don't need to move around to wake myself up fully.

This may seem a strange thing, but if you give it a chance, if you are susceptible to to ASMR or Asynchronous Meridian Response, there is a strong chance that these videos will KNOCK you out
![]() Go to youtube and type ASMR Their is a MASSIVE community of extremely friendly individuals who all make "Relaxation Videos" They may seem a bit weird at first, but I'm telling you, they can be a godsend for going to sleep. ASMR has strong ties to Hypnosis, and can help Lull your brain to sleep, Help ease the mania. A few good videos to "ease" into the ASMR experience re any of the videos made the "Queen of ASMR" GentleWhispering I'm new so it won't let post a link ![]() Again, call me a weirdo if you like, But I sleep EVERY night now ![]() Good Luck! |

Ok last night I couldn't sleep at all and it was making me very anxious so I got up and exercised and bam! I was so tired I fell asleep immediately.
I woke up again far too early this am and began to get anxious again so I did a yoga routine. I'm feeling a lot calmer and like I could get back to sleep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I can't sleep, I will sit quietly on the couch in the dark. Sometimes, a change of scenery helps.

I tend to read or write. If our heater is on I play the guitar quietly so as not to wake Mom.
Sometimes I get on the internet but that tends to make me more awake even though I have Flux so I try not to do that often. If I'm feeling a little tired I lie in bed and listen to music. Music soothes me. I could listen to Fiona Apple and Rob Zombie and both would be just as relaxing.

I get on-line. I sleep with my iPad charging beside me somI can grab it anytime.

I laid in bed all night I played on my tablet surfing the net I also surfed a ton of forums. I don't feel to bad right now just hope I can rest tonight.

Rest continues an issue! Nothing physical as have had a load of tests, thanks for all the ideas! Thing is, you all gave me so many fun things to try that actually I had a busier night lol Wanted to say Thanks.
