i have been diagnosed with mdd but have recently quit taking meds. i feel like i have to try to make it on my own. but i am being witch closely. i feel like i cannot show any emotion or they will put me back on meds. then it gets to be to much and i find myself crying myself to sleep every night, when i do fall asleep. then i put my face back on during the day. isnt that cutting it close to bipolar?? im just wondering, i need some answers i guess.

if this bothers you enough than you will seek help.Is it interferring with you daily life?
when did you go off meds and could any of be withdraw symptoms?
It is best handled by your pdoc.It would be awful crying every night..very sad,

I agree with raven on this. So many things can mimic Bipolar behaviour, doesn't mean a person is.
Seems lately, thanks to negative things being blow out of proportion with the media, movies, etc. "Bipolar" has become a "catch all" for stuff, for awhile "ADD/ADHD" was the public's "catch all".
Sad to hear people so ready to self-diagnose or others mis-diagnose.
It's best to have an evaluation from a psychiatrist(s) to be properly DXed, try not to fill yourself with added anxiety by "wondering if's", that media, internet, movies, etc. can induce.
Take care,
DE

Hello I hope you are doing better at this time. I agree with everyone else that you need to see a professional in order to get diagnosed correctly. Your disorder could also be something mental or physical and only a professional would be able to help you in either case. It does sound like you are experiencing symptoms of depression none the less and you need to get help with this issue, so that you can feel better. I have to take medication daily, and have just learned that I have a disorder and in order to function on a more tactful level I need to take medication. I hope the best for you in your future endeavours. I am going to leave you a hotline number to call in case you would like to call and talk to someone in person when you can not sleep or feel depressed 1-800-273-TALK. Take care Sincerely Soidhonia
