What I mean by this is the self that lives inside of you
The self that may need some quiet time, some reading, some
playing with the cats/dog.

What do you do to nurture your "self"?

For myself... at the moment Im not so great at the basics but when Im well I do a boatload.

At the moment -
I practice self care and self nurture
I eat as healthy as possible
I keep well hydrated
I go for walks at a beautiful park
I practice mindfulness and deep breathing throughout the day
I meditate
I make time for an enjoyable activity everyday
I treat myself occasionally

Walk my dog and go to Jazzercise. I love to dance and even when I feel horrible I make myself go a few times a week because I always feel a little better after I move my body.

* Daily affirmations - replacing negative thoughts with positive ones
* Aromatherapy
* Trying to help others in any small way that I can -- it's good for the soul, I think

I try to meditate and exercise everyday. I love my rebounder and it helps me feel calm. I also read before bed every night no matter what. I love it. Other things I try to add to that when I can are journaling are gratitude journaling.

I journal, allowing those inner thoughts to express themselves

I try and eat balanced meals. I.drink water. I talk with close friends. I.take a shower. I take a walk outside. I spend time with my kitties. I replace negative thoughts with.positive ones as.best I can. I fight my depression and sometimes I win and sometimes I lose. Either way I come out ahead because I have acceptance.into my illness. I accept these things I cannot change. All these things can make fir a better day. I.know the list is simple yet that is how my life has to be. Simple.

Chase my cat around the house. Really now, I try to exercise such as a hike, and listen to music. Sometimes I watch a movie at home. And I try to socialize every day at the local restaurant.

Throw rocks at my neighbors house

For me its taking my dog to the local dog park, on average three times a day. I can spend quality time playing with her and kinda escape.

But on special occasions I like to run naked through my neighborhood holding a blender and yelling, "I need ice".

Hmmm...In the last three months I've changed my routines a lot.

At the beginning of three months ago I read books about 9-12 hours a day because of weather. No exaggeration. That lasted about a month because of no work due to weather.

Haven't touched a book since then so I do...I guess nothing. Funny, I don't remember much about what I have been doing.

Oh! Cooking is one! I think just finding random things to do mostly.

Good sense of humour. I had a laugh. Laughing is very therapeutic, you know.

I journal, read, and exercise. I live with my BP mom who is currently quite depressed, I find I need times away from her because she can bring me down, so I love going to the movies alone, going for walks. Just being out of the house helps me forget about how the toxic environment my house can be. I go out for lunch or dinner with a friend. I text a friend who will be supportive and a good listener.

When I was most depressed, I had no interest in anything, but for reason I could still concentrate on reading. Reading was awesome for me because it helped me forget the **** I was going through.

Warm showers are the best for me! Especially when I feel super anxious, even if sometimes they're temporarily. Tea is helpful too. I am 34 single without kids so it's easy for me to do things for myself, but I have to do this alongside of being a caregiver for my BP mom.

I ask myself what do I need today? What will be enjoyable for me and be feel good.
