Called up my credit card companies and arranged for a later due date this month, as I won't have money until my new tenant moves in. What a relief!
Thanks for this!

I cooked a whole pot of soup, almost from scratch (I did use some precut veggies I bought at the store). I ate some and poured the rest into my special plastic (no BPA - safe for foods) container that is a square in cross section and very tall in height. It is so convenient for the fridge - in the past, I would pot the pot itself, but it was not tall enough so it did not use fridge space efficiently, and its being round also wasted a lot of space.

I also boiled eggs - I eat hard-boiled eggs and boil a bunch a time and then eat them for several days.

I started preparing the place for my new tenant. All in all, it is has been a good quiet Saturday.

Oh, and I had a good phone conversation with my childhood friend.
Thanks for this!

What do you use to defur the couch?

I use a small brush with plastic bristles. Here is a bigger version of same:

I have also tried rolling those rollers with sticky sheets, but prefer the brush. I wonder what you use - you seem to know exactly what you are doing and must have been doing it for awhile; I only get a couch earlier this year so I am new to cleaning it.

We bought a Eureka Pet express vacuum about 2 years ago-it comes with a power paw gadget & a hair raiser for pets which is what I use the most-its one of those double sided padded brushes that you brush in one direction to pick up the furry fur-on the side is a compartment where you stick it in & it sucks away all the fur-it is totally awesome. Our couch is corduroy & it collects cat fur like a magnet. The brush is great cause you can just take that out & give everything a quick once over without having to drag out the vacuum. Since my hubby & I both have some back & shoulder issues it has been a lifesaver.

Made and ate farmers' cheese (yes, I make my own now). Spent some time on PC with my virtual friends. Did a load of laundry and put it away.

Oh, and this!

I used to lug Tide into the laundry room - down the stairs and around the corner.

Then I got an OXO measuring cup and would carry 1/4 cup of detergent (we have HE washers and only 1/4 cup is needed). Still, it was not convenient.

So... today I found a large empty med. bottle with a screw cap, which I did not recycle thinking that a big, clear bottle might come in handy.

Using a funnel, I poured 1/4 of Tide into the bottle, screwed on the cap tightly and threw the bottle into the laundry hamper, on top of dirty towels. In the laundry room, I emptied the bottle into the detergent receptacle. Then, at home, I closed the empty bottle and threw it into the box with Tide, so that next time it will be there for me.

I always get happy when I can think of little things that make life's chores less tedious. So that's my major feat for today!
Thanks for this!

Hopefully the oil change was on the car and nothing to do with the haircut?
