Hi, I'm Danielle and I have type one bipolar with rapid cycling. Lately the depressive episodes are getting worse and I'm afraid I'll end up dead or in ECT or long term residential treatment. I just feel so hopeless and wanted to vent a little..

Hello, diaryofamadman. Please tell your psychiatrist about what is going on. Some adjustments seem to be in order.

I wish you well.

Hey Danielle, welcome to the forum! This is a good place to vent and the people are very supportive here. I hope you're able to discuss this with your pdoc

Welcome
I'm sorry you're struggling. Do you have a therapist? You really need to let you doc know what's going on with you because if you don't and the symptoms become increasingly worse, your worst fears could come true. You need to take care of your illness.

Just a passing thought, you know ECT isn't such a bad thing these days, I've had. It didn't really help but I had the experience and it wasn't bad. Some memory loss in the beginning ut it goes away. As far as residential treatment goes I also was involved in something similar and it was helpful. I learned a lot of coping skills, ways to manage and how to take care of myself.

Welcome, Danielle. I understand where you're coming from, I have the same dx, with psychotic features. I am still climbing out of a terrible depressed episode. It is very hard. If invega does not work to stabilize me then I am looking at ECT as well. But ECT worked for me last time - for six years. So keep holding out hope. You can always vent to us.

Thanks for the support everyone, And my pdoc doesn't have any openings for two weeks so I have to wait, :/ My therapist is fantastic but therapy doesn't seem to be helping me at all. I've actually been doing some research on ECT and TMS so I'll post an update after talking to my pdoc about these things,
