I have gone through intake for a severe depressive episode with two different organization in the last three weeks and asked if I've been sexually abused like 8 times. I have and I didn't think it was an issue anymore until being asked so many times. Now my head is about to explode. Worse is that what I'm understanding is that childhood sexual abuse increases the likelihood of mental illness.
I'm so messed up about this. I quit my job and don't have insurance and don't have a counselor anymore. Has anyone been through this or know some resources? I don't know if this is an OK post here. I'm soooo embarrassed but I'm hoping maybe someone here can help me figure out what to do. I did post a bit in the survivors of abuse forum, but oddly I feel more comfortable here.

I leave my history of abuse out of intake because that's where the conversation goes instead of my current issues. I don't know where you live but Catholic charities has sliding scale therapy fee. My Sister in law was going 2x a month because her co-pay was $11 but she got a case manager that helped her step by step getting the community services and assistance she needed. Will you be starting with any of those organizations? If you are can you call and see if they have any more intensive treatment programs to help stabilize you?
My former T called it a history of violent sexual partners because I just don't talk about it. I'm adverse to the word trauma. I did at intake mentioned one date rape incident but that's it.

Thanks y'all. I'm in TX. I will see what catholic charities has available here. Every time I was asked I told the intake person I didn't want to talk about it. The pDoc for the county was the only one that wouldn't leave it at that. He spoke of PTSD and my dreams and all sorts of stuff. Honestly I've never dealt with any of it but it's looking different after all this and now that I'm now my 1st abuser's age and my niece is the age I was when the original stuff happened. It's a mind **** at the moment. Thanks for listening and for your advice.

Is there a school that prepares therapists in your area? if there is, call them and ask for a list of recent graduates. They are now interns working towards licensure and they charge less than licensed therapists.
