I visited my beautiful Mum as she has been feeling really down about her mother who has dementia. It is a horrible thing to have to see someone you love go through. I really feel for my Mum. We had a coffee and chatted for ages, even laughed a bit. I was so thankful to be able to be there for her for a change as it is usually her being there for me.

I drove an older woman to lunch, someone who's a bit difficult. We had a long talk and came to a better understanding about some things. Glad we did it.

Had to tell my dad he's getting a daily care person. He thought "I have to move to a home!?" I hope I convinced him this is so he can stay in his home. I'll reiterate today to calm him down. Big changes. But big relief for me. I've been doing this by myself.

Went to ECT, am going to an AA meeting, dropping off a book at a friend's workplace, maybe getting gas. All this despite my extreme fatigue from waking up at 2 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep. Just don't want to sit home alone. Doing anything, for me, is positive. Hopefully I can get these activities done without collapsing.

Got up at 8:30 AM and got out of the house by 9:30 so they could get in and fix the A/C abd heater. Well not fix just clean it and stuff. But me up and out so early....very positive!

I've been having a bad week, very edgy and irritable. This has led to some relapses with alcohol, a substance I can't use safely, but often turn to to manage my bipolar symptoms. Today, I was really edgy even rage filled and when I felt overwhelmed I took some of my as needed anti-psychotic med instead of drinking.

Managed to talk myself out of some negative thinking today and it worked! I was the proud owner of my very own mind, at least for that moment.

Bought new modem, installed and got reconnected on to the internet wireless world.

Went for a walk, ate breakfast. Soon I'll be going to my volunteer gig, then have a therapist appointment. As I've said before, just about any activity is good when you're still struggling with bipolar depression.

crawled off the couch and went to the gym for boot camp. May be the only hour I get today that wasn't overrun with negative thoughts.
