Hi, haven't been here in a while, made a new profile....
I have been off my meds for a few months, my soon to be ex, cancelled my insurance. I've been maintaining for the most part, but, the paranoia has started, and I am hearing whispering, but, no words. Its really freaking me out, I have tried to be proactive and went to a mental health clinic, but medicaid was denied. I have a job, I always try to keep a job, paranoia usually ruins that. I'm at that point where I don't know what to believe as far as my thoughts. I don't want to go to that place where its really hard to come back from. I was thinking about ordering on line medication, anyone have any input? But, I'm also afraid on line meds will be poison or something, so I probably wouldn't take them anyways...

I'm sorry your in a bind. Most county mental health clinics work of a sliding scale based on your income, many people pay 5-10 for a visit. There are Psych meds available for little cost,Walmart has a list of $4 meds , also many clinic have samples and can get meds for you from Big Pharma companies as they offer help when a person can't afford there drugs.

I'm not sure what you mean by "on line meds " If your paranoid you need to get treatment now or its very possible things will progress and become worse.

Welcome to PC I hope your able to find information and support here that will help you.

Online meds are a gamble and risky at best. In other words very unreliable and very over priced. Ordering controlled substances online is also illegal. You will pay an outrageous amount of money for very little pills and they may not even be what they claim to be, so I would at least caution you of the risks and the legal issues involved with that.

Paranoia is manageable if you do not become delusional. For example, if you worry about things that are possible, phone tapped, being followed, spied on, people talking about you, any thing that is at least possible, it's manageable. If on the other hand you worry about things that are very improbable, the CIA following you, Mind control, aliens,, etc, this is more serious and requires anti-psychotics!

I get paranoid and some times even delusional. I also suffer anxiety and rage and various mode swings. For me there is no other option except meds and regular pdoc visits. If your condition is more managable, much of it can be taken care of thru a general practitioner and a therapist. I am able to hold a full time job, so there is hope!

Do you have any prescriptions left?

BP meds @ walmart $4

Mood stablizers
Tegretol (Carbamazepine)
Lithium 300

Anti anxiety
Buspar (Buspirone)

Anti depressant
Celexa (Citalopram)
Aventyl
paxil (Paroxetine)
Trazorel (Trazodone)

Anti psychotics
Fluphenazine

You can pay the $50-$120 for a walk in-clinic/urgent care and ask them to proscribe somethings on that list to help you until you see a Psychiatrist

I don't know about your area but our local health and welfare offers cheap medications and in some cases free. So you might want to stop in your local office and see what they can offer.
