I have been pretty stable for last 11 months, except for some frequent insomnia. I haven't been IP since last April.
Thanks for this!

I've been going into depression and back into hypomania in a matter of days as of late. Just hoping the meds kick in soon so I can be in a "good place" for longer than a couple days. Ugh. But good news is I'm feeling ok today.

Like some others said, I don't even know what it means to be stable. I don't think I have really ever been stable for any length of time. I am only now fully accepting my diagnosis after 8 years of denial, so I am hoping for stability soon.

Its a shame so many people cant identify what stability is. And the rapid cycling on this site is like nothing I have seen in "real life" experiences with Bipolar clients. I wish I could help you all find some stability.

I have this great ap on my phone which might be useful to a few of you to identify triggers and what strategies help. Its called Optimism and its a free ap (orange in colour). You can individualise the content and write notes for reference as to what happened that day. It also records exercise and caffeine, sleep etc so you can see the correlation between good diet, exercise, coping strategies, triggers, meds taken etc. I just wish I could help you all.
Thanks for this!

A minimum of a few weeks, and all the way up to eight months, which is my current record :P

Let's see how long I get after this episode. Hopefully I can beat the record. Should be a Guinness World Book of Records entry for "Period of Stability Maintained by Someone With Bipolar Disorder"!

I have, in the past, maintained several years at a time of stability. The past 3 years have been a different story altogether but that is because I had a major psychotic break followed by a miscarriage then the birth and postpartum period of my daughter. I have been stable now for a couple of months and I am hoping that lasts for a few years!

I probably hit 50% since last September before that it was much lower.
