Thank you all for your responses. Today my oldest 11yo had his counseling appt (ADHD but now a question of bipoloar also). He brought up "dipolar" and started asking questions. So with the help of his T we explained it and that I was taking medications to help the sx just like he is taking meds to help the adhd.

You know what he said? He said that he knew a long time ago that something was wrong and that because I am getting help he feels like I really care about him. Made me cry To tell the children *UPDATE* I love them so much To tell the children *UPDATE*

Funny that I just saw this was updated. Crappy!! That is how it is going! I wrote an update that things seem to be getting better with me and they are. My oldest though just doesnt seem to be coming around.

I really thought that when everything started to fall in place with my treatment that he would follow suit. It is not. The same battles every single day and that triggers me so badly.

I give him the Ritalin in the morning (short acting) and then again in teh afternoon. So by late afternoon or evening he is so damn moody and crap which triggers me.

I don't want to put him mood stablizers I dont want to admit that I gave this to him. I dont know what to do...I was doing so well and then it all crashes.

I'm right there with you - my ex is battling our 11 year old - My dad had bipolar and my dx has changed to bipolar - I'm concerned...I went through the list for child symptoms and sent them to my ex - we agree on about 80% of the items we've seen - some may only happen at the other house.

I have the same concern about mood stabilizers - I just started so I was going to wait and see how I did and try to make some kind of judgement if he needs them?

I hope things go better for you and the 11 year old...
