I've only been on it a couple of months, 150mg before bedtime.

Since I've gotten over the hangover feeling in the morning, my hunger cravings have died down a lot (as in I don't crave sugar all of the time, etc.). I haven't gained any weight yet. If anything I've lost weight because I've been drinking so much water.

Now, past couple of days, I've been filled with this awful restless feeling! I can't sit still or concentrate on my work (writing work. I'm planning a new novel, outlining a different novel, working on a synopsis to market another novel, and overall feel overwhelmed with just all of that because there's not enough time in the day).

I can't focus. I can not concentrate, not even on movies. I've been pacing a lot. Today the restless feeling was so unbearable I couldn't even sit still for a long period of time, much less get any writing related things done.

I've been waking up at five in the morning. This morning I couldn't sit still long enough to even write in my journal!

Could this be seroquel related? It feels a lot like the way I felt while on abilify, with the whole inner restlessness. Anyone else experience this on seroquel? It's been two months on it. It seems like a symptom that would have happened sooner.

I generally just feel nothingness coupled with not-as-depressed thoughts.

When i first started taking it, I had restless legs every night.

Seroquel is known to cause psycho-motor agitation.

And no, the agitation is supposed to come in time. Some people have to get off it because of uncontrollable ticks. So you may be on to something pinning this on seroquel.. but i would ask your doctor.

Ugh. I just hate it so much! I can't stand it! I am so unable to concentrate on any real work. I'm considering not taking it tonight.

We are not 100% sure it is the seroquel. When I don't take mine, or take only half (like the past couple days), i get cold sweats and feel a tad bit sick. And i have more trouble sleeping.

Maybe take half? You haven't been on too long, and when i only take half the side effects are bearable.

I'll try that tonight. I admittedly didn't take it last night because of the restlessness thing, which I blamed on it. And I had trouble sleeping. Stupid racing thoughts! Stuck on one thought over and over again. I have doxepin (sp?) that my doc prescribed for insomnia, but it does nothing for me. She said it's like a stronger version of benadryl (sp again. Jeez!). I probably should have mentioned that benadryl doesn't make me sleepy. Whenever I'm given a med for insomnia it doesn't work. I was given ambien one time, and it just made me feel more awake. Seroquel, however, knocks me completely out.

Can it might be that you need a med tweak? It is possible that your needing a higher dose to reach a therapeutic dose again from built up tolerance. It's only been a couple months and your only on 120mg. My partner can't sleep without the Seroquel. You need to see your pdoc and let him know what's going on with this. Can you get in to see him soon hun?

My doctor prescribed, olanzapine. It is supposed to counteract the restlessness that some anti-psychotics cause as a side effect.

I take seroquel and get such restless legs at night. I hate it, it's like I HAVE to move them. I hope this goes away since I just started meds again two days ago.

I have a friend that always twitches her mouth on the side. I don't know what she takes but it scares the crap out of me that I might get something like it.

I have an appointment on april sixth to see a new pdoc. My old one retired, and I'm not fond of the one I'm stuck with at the moment.

Ideally I'd prefer not to be on any antipsychotic at all. I spent so many years not needing to be on one. I just took 300mg of lamictal 2mg clonazepam and was fine. I don't know what's been up with me lately. I just got out of the stupid hospital!

Anyway, hopefully new doc can help and maybe she'll be able to give me some insight as to what is going on with me, and what we can do.

I don't want to be on more meds than I need to be.

On antipsychotics I always get this annoying eye twitch. Luckily with the seroquel its only happened a couple of times.

I hate antipsychotics also and am prescribed Respirdal, but I don't take it unless I feel like I need it. It's fast acting so it's not like it's got to build up in the body to be effective. I only take it when I can't sleep and the visuals are a little much, but normally I don't mind what I'm seeing. Respiradal 1 mg is about the only one that I can barely take and I'm allergic to the rest.

It sounds like you may be having some breakthrough 'highs'. I am on seroquel base dose 100-150 XR (Slow release) and I top up a bit with fast acting (between 50-100 in divided doses) when I go a bit too hypomanic then it settles down. In may case it looks a lot like what you are describing with suddenly having too many ambitious projects on the go and flit form one to the other as I cannot concentrate. In fact for a few days had to go as high as 400mgs extra to stop me flying too high with mixed episodes. My Psych Doc follows this and allows me to act according to how my mood is.

I have never tried it ,but it seems like a drug with bad side effects.
