I haven't looked at these but got the article in my email today and am not really able to look at them and decide anything right now but I thought maybe they'd help someone. I'll try them when my mood is more stable.

Thanks heaps for sharing this with us BeyondtheRainbow -

I really like suggestion 3 - Relaxation Melodies.

I think there's nothing better than music to lift my spirits.

It's funny but I had never realized how I cling to music until coming to PC and thinking "well I don't do that" when people talked about music. And then I realized that my last 3 manic episodes have all included fixation on a certain group/singer and a specific set of songs. This time around it is 7 songs that I've been listening to constantly.

Let me know if you use the app and like it. I'm going to try to check them out more tomorrow if I feel up to it. Right now I'm still upset and having trouble sleeping.

Yeah I'm exactly the same BeyondtheRainbow - music that I listen to usually reflects my mood. I try keep my tunes somewhat upbeat but no that is definitely not always possible as I still fall backwards sometimes and play the dark sombre ones when I'm down which only adds fuel to my declining mental health. It's only good for me from the point of view that I can relate to what the artists are saying, as I can relate to this post too.

If I'm conscious of it, I really do try make a concerted effort to change what's on my current playlist because music can have a powerful impact on our mood.

I somehow gravitate towards songs written by people in sad situations who are writing about hope in some form. This time it's not as overt as last time when the songs are pretty much called "hope with lots of other names" but it's my theme. I guess that's probably a good thing
