Am I truly happy?
I don't know if I've ever really been happy! In my LIFE! What if it was just the hypomania making me feel happy. Really this is serious. What if it was just a "chemical happy" and I've just been in denial all this time and what I thought when I was happy I wasn't actually happy at all. What's going on with me? Do I even make sense? Oh gees here comes my confusion. ![]() |

I just of my best to gang on and ride it out. Right now my mind is full of songs and I'm wide awake well before I should be. I could be headed up bit what if I'm just genuinely happy??? What if I'm hypo? I feel great!!! What if I'm just happy?? lol I get confused too

I think I must have been mad to have thought I was truly happy. Once.

I have brief moments where I feel happy, like if something good happens (which is rare, not to be negative or anything).

My Momma (God rest her soul) asked me one time years ago if I had ever been happy. My answer was no, I don't think I have. I'm not sure I even know what that word is supposed to mean.....

I have to accept the fact that part of life means getting hurt sometimes but it's important that we do move on.
Otherwise we are only killing our own mental health. And that serves in nobody's best interest. Last edited by Crazy Hitch; Jun 10, 2015 at 08:20 PM. |

Can you do something you enjoy and see if there's a difference in how it makes you feel?
I hope that makes sense-- sorry if the question seems off. I'm depressive but not bipolar. I saw this topic in "today's posts" and was hoping I could learn something slightly parallel to my situation (as I recover from depression), if it's okay with you guys. (If not, please just say so and I'll leave the thread and not bother you again.) |

I've got a few relaxation activities booked in for this week which is great. I thought I was swinging down. No. This is not swinging down into depression. This is me being hurt by callous people. I'll get there. I'll feel more recharged once I've had my nails and hair done. That usually works ![]() |

Oh great, I just wasn't sure if I should stay in my relevant forum sections only.
I bet a salon visit would do wonders. Then if you want, you can see if it reminds you of hypomania or not, right? ![]() |

Know how you feel bipolar can be so confusing.
I don't think its strange to feel the way you do. I totally get it and often wonder the same thing myself.

Got me pondering. So what's the difference between these: Feeling happy because of our environment OR Feeling happy because of hypomania? Could you have both? I recon yeah you could actually .... because probably when you're hypo you're more outgoing / friendly / sociable - all round easier to get on with as opposed to when you might be depressed and not want to really hang around with anyone, if this analogy makes sense. And maybe some people are just brought up in an environment where they will be less exposed to events that may cause unhappiness for others. There's probably a study on this with identical twins? |
