How I can start something and then wonder a day later why I started it ... just like this thread, that's a classic example, I'm sure that there was a point to it yesterday

But today?

Oh I don't even know what I'm saying

I max out credit cards in just a few hours, mostly buying gifts for others or things to make our home beautiful, and then I get angry when my loved ones ask how much I spent or ask other check-in questions to test for mania. Happens every time and then, later, I'm smothered in guilt and trying to repair our financial state.

It never ceases to amaze me that whilst we share some symptoms in common with mania/depression etc, our stories are all so unique in terms of how they present and manifest themselves and the outcomes in our lives

Thought this gif was cool Shows how different perspectives can be -

I continue to be amazed at what a chameleon bipolar is. Just about the time I think I've got mine figured out, it changes again and throws me off. That's why it took so long to get a definitive diagnosis (I spent over 2 years in bipolar limbo with the dx of BP-NOS). Now it's behaving less erratically (thank you Zyprexa) and it makes more sense now, although I'm sure it's not done playing tricks on me. LOL

How fast my thoughts can go... from one to another... so fast I can't remember the last one I had. Spending huge amounts of money in one day & not paying my rent.

How I can read 10 or more books in a day, while watching tv or painting, and holding a conversation all at the same time.

I'm never manic when I need it most. Ever.

How I never feel any pain while I'm manic. Most of my broken bones have been in manic moods and I didn't know it until later.

It amazes me that when I'm manic colors are richer, sounds are fuller, and everything seems to have more weight. Almost like I didn't change but the world did. And then in a depression the world becomes bland and thin.

How my brain actually functions during a manic episode ... like what are the biological changes ... I've read up on some of them ... but a hell of a lot of them really don't make any sense to me

How hypomania can make me take myself less seriously, as in the ability for me to live and learn from my mistakes in order to keep moving forward. I think it's a slight chemical brain elevation that lets me keep moving forward. I think I'm in somewhat of a mixed episode at the moment though.

As Redfoo says, "Let's Get Ridiculous!"

If we can't learn to forgive ourselves for our own mistakes, we can't change and grow in the direction that we want to.

So, let's get ridiculous
