I bought myself a running machine and some weights and a bench today. I'm getting fat on this Depakote. I'm struggling to get some of my trousers on and I can feel the fat when I do my laces up. I'm eating all sorts of food I wouldn't normally. I have a craving for really strong cheddar cheese at present. If I was female, I swear I'd be buying pregnancy testers by the dozen. Been eating Haribos by the bag full, and chocolate, I never eat chocolate. Got my review on Tuesday and a health check. I think they will want to up the dose of Depakote. That'll mean more food and junk intake. I swear the people who make Depakote are in cahoots with the people who make the sweets at Haribo. They just taste soooo good. It's all one big conspiracy.

I have the same problem with Depakote, it works great for me though so I guess that outweighs the negative part, I'll just have to watch what I eat and exercise more which I need to do anyway

Toodles, how long have you been taking Depakote? Just curious. I exercise 3 times a week (40 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weight training) and so far my weight has been stable.

Ha!

Good luck with the exercise. Exercise is good for the head too!

7 weeks now. I just don't stop eating/grazing. I think I put on about 8-10 lbs in the first few weeks. I haven't weighed myself since. I'll start my regime tomorrow. Glad your weight is staying stable.

Ya, I'd be alarmed as well with a sharp increase like that. I don't feel like exercising so much but it's more of a routine for me so I just keep at it. Hang in there and I hope you find a regimen that counters the weight gain. It's only been 3 1/2 weeks on Depakote for me so who knows what will happen long term for me...
