This may be good for the "drug questions" forum, but you are certainly welcomed to post your question here too. any one else on buspar, abilify or prozac

I'm on Abilify as well as a bunch of other stuff & I sometimes see movement out of the corner of my eye like an animal just ran by & there is nothing there. Doesn't happen too often & doesn't seem serious to me. I'm not having "visions" or anything.--Suzy

I would call your pdoc and let them know what is happening. I am on abilify and have not experienced that but everyone reacts differetly. I hope you find out what is causing this. Take care.

I tried abilify and couldn't handle the side effects. I couldn't stay awake and I was extremely agitated all the time.

Instead, my pdoc put me on Buspar. I've only been on it for about a week now, and I am starting to notice the positive effects. It seems to keep me more stable and less likely to give in to the dark side in times where I normally would. I've read though that Buspar works well when combined with an AD, and I'm on 375mg of Effexor and 300mg of Wellbutrin so I got that area covered any one else on buspar, abilify or prozac

I haven't noticed any side effects from the buspar. I think Effexor has caused me to see small spots at times. Wellbutrin has given me tinitus (ringing ears), and makes me quick to sweat. And then Depakote makes me fat; a little spleepy at first, but fine after a while.

I take Buspar but I have never had any problems in about three months now. I'd let your doc know. Keep us posted!

For those on Buspar, what positive effects do you notice? I have been on it for 8 days now, and honestly, I don't notice anything therapeutic. I am taking it for anxiety.

For the first 3 days, I had intense hyper feelings, like too much caffeine. Hard to sleep, pounding heart, hyperactivity, etc. Other side effects the first few days: extroversion (talking to strangers), enhanced sense of smell (very cool!), urge to drive recklessly. But all that went away. Now the only feeling I get is weak and tingly legs and sometimes I'm a little lightheaded when I take the first dose of the day.

When can I expect any positive effects to show up? Or is 8 days long enough to wait and I should give it up?

For me buspar was fairly immediate...it tended to overshoot for me when I took it then go back down in a half hour below where I wanted it and then gradually come back up to a working level...also found that for me it would last until the next dose...

I have been on abilify for 2 years and so many others meds they could be used to knock out and elephant. (take my word for that) I also have suffered from visual and auditory hallucinations on and of for 14 years (auditory aside) I just wanted to tell you that mine are caused by complex partial seizures and are mostly kept under control by tegretol and topamax. Not saying that the meds are not the reason for yours'. Just pointing out there may be other reasons.

hey thanks for the note. glad to hear you are doing fine on tegretol. i had totake it for years for a nerve disorder in my face. trigeminal neuroalgia. got toxic on teg many times had to stop. also works as a bipolar mood stabilizer for me as well. so i was on a huge dose. like 400 mg every 6 hours something like that.-onyx
