I am in a full-blown manic episode and have been for 2 weeks now. From past experience, I know where this is headed if I don't get stabilized... and fast!
It started the same way it usually does, with increased energy, creativity, productivity & euphoria. Now, the euphoria is morphing into irritation, agitation and rage...oh, and serious insomnia & racing thoughts combined with a healthy dose of anxiety. FUN!!

So I told my pdoc all of this during my appointment today. She constantly wrote things on her notepad and then asked me if I'm suicidal & depressed... umm, What?!?! No, just the exact opposite, doc!! She asked me what meds & doses I'm taking then followed that up with asking me who prescribed those meds to me. SHE DID!!!Ugh!! Do you ever feellike you're being ignored by your pdoc?

If a pdoc didn't even know that they had prescribed the meds I'm on, I would get a new pdoc asap.
Thanks for this!

I had a pdoc once, he never looked at me, just at his note pad. I had enough and said"look at me damn it, I'm right here" he looked so startled, like the thought that I was a real life person sitting in his office instead of some classroom exercise. When I left that day I requested a different pdoc, it took awhile but meanwhile he looked at me when I went in and I didn't have to repeat myself so much. Maybe that's what your pdoc needs, to realize she's not dealing with abstracts but people.

Wow. My psychiatrist knows exactly what I am on and looks at her chart! Did your doctors ever try that!!!

I would get a new doctor. Sorry.

I'm going to look into it, butwith currently having no insurance until my SSDI kicks in, I don't know what options I have left.

Wow... She must have lots of patients or dementia. It must be extremely frustrating, start all over again every time like you've had switched Pdoc... Well it should be easy then to go see another Pdoc... I'm one of the lucky ones who is remembered by mine. Don't wanna switch even he can be quite irritating sometimes by not pitying me at all
