I wish I could trigger an episode of mania. It woud be so nice to have some energy and feel happy again. I guess this is an odd question, but anyway to trigger an episode?

As much as I agree that a certain amount of mania can be nice...don't think I'm going to be able to give you hints or suggestions about how to get there...

Manic episodes can be very dangerous...

Hi ubekidn,

Interesting forum name you have, lol. any way in answer to your question, lack of sleep has triggered hypomanic episodes for me. In my case however, even though the hypomanic episodes feel good, I never would want to trigger one because as I have unfortunately learned over the past twenty years, what goes up must inevitably go down. And in my case my depressions have always lasted far longer and been much more intense than the hypomanic episodes. Plus I have done and said things while hypomanic that I have regretted.

I know I keep talking about Lamictal in the various posts I have written so much that at this point someone will think that I am on the payroll for that drug ccompany. I am not. But anyway, lamictal helped me feel pretty even in my moods which I think if you think about it is really what you want. ( Whether it will last for me or anyone else is a different question.) Have you tried it?
