I know...I take the maximum dose of almost all of my 7 meds and it is rather difficult and frustrating. Since I cannot separate my own sympathy from my pain, I feel empty. Soon I will receive good insurance through my husband's new job. There are few people I know who demonstrate the only commitment is life and its to each other.

sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you.
I just decided to take the extra lamictal....I take 200mg at night. If it were stimulating then it would keep me up right? So I will take the extra 100mg in the day.
so I am willing to take it during the day as well to keep a better check on my moods. We are planning a trip to europe and I am trying to stay focused and not get hypomanic about it all. I see my pdoc next week. She is not going to be happy with me....long story. So I am not looking forward to my visit with her.
I drink too much and she wants me to join AA which I will not.
my drinking was out of control when I was hypomanic on less geodon, but much more in control with the increased dose of 80mg twice a day. I call it my sanity pill. It is at its maximum dose so no wiggle room.

I am going to ask for some zyprexa in case of emergency while in europe in june.

Lamictal is my “go to” drug. It pulled me out of a suicidal depression I had been mired in for three years. I wasn’t diagnosed properly at the time and my new Pdoc was trying to stabilize me. When he finally added Lamictal I came to. It has helped me tremendously. The only thing about Lamictal is it tends to make me (as my friend puts it) dumb as a Dairy Cow with the motivation of one as well. But it is a no-brainer when I think about the choice I have – Either be depressed and suicidal or be stable and fairly happy. That ones easy gimme my Lamictal. Good Luck

Thank you for your reply, I have not noticed any difference in the higher dose, so I now take a total of 300mg for the day.
I am glad that you are stable now. I have taken 200mg of lamictal for 10 years???
I also take 80mg of geodon twice a day for my sanity, helps prevent hypo mania.
and ,5mg of klonipin at night to sleep.

I noticed that you list ADD as one of your issues.
Do you take a stimulant for that?
just curious as I had a conversation about anxiety and ADD. What is your experience taking it?
That is if you do take something like aderall?

Are you having some depression? the lamictal will help with that. I don't think that lithium will help depression.
Not sure....

I definitely feel it's a mood stabilizer. I've used the word "stable" to describe myself in recent weeks, and I hadn't used that word to describe myself in MONTHS and I attribute it to starting lamictal.

I am up to 300 on lamictal but it was not enough to prevent a mixed episode and was still depressed much of the time. Latuda added to Lamctal made me stable but lamictal alone did not help.
