Quit all my medications a while back, (been back on them for about a week now, I was off them for just under a month. Reason: As long as I cause no harm to myself or others then life is what it is. I'm still not sure I want to take them, but my family has been handing them to me daily. No opting out of that one. I don't remember much of the day I "basically" got caught, other than my husband hold pills in one hand and phone in the other: These words will never be lost in my mind "I've go your pills in one hand and the phone with 911 dialed, your choice..I hit send and I WILL sign the papers or you can take your pills" I don't even remember what I had done to have him catch one. O'well it has no value.
Long story short (not) I'm sitting here alone, lonely and my terrible thought keeping me company. I know this is probably the results of returning to my medications but it still drives me to think why take them if this is how the body feels. I felt so much better when I wasn't on them for the month oh Mes I stopped: synthroid tenormin lamictal seroquil Lithium klonopin

stopping synthroid is stopping something that your body needs. All of the other medications are things that your doctor can change, but usually you need synthroid because your thyroid isn't working right.

Hello Kymaro: The Skeezyks went off his medications several months ago. Now he's just toughing it out one day after the other. It's a constant struggle... but then it was a struggle when he was on med's too... plus the med's made him feel sort-of groggy most of the time. It seems it's a battle either way.
Anyway, I know the struggle being off med's, versus being on med's, can be. So I would like to simple send some warm thoughts your way with the hope that you will be able to find deep peace within... ![]()

That's a lot to come off of like that. My mom also takes synthroid and when she runs out or stops taking it...lets just say the last time that happened she ended up in the hospital almost in ICU. Your thyroid pretty much runs your body, and without it, it starts shutting down. I can't speak for the rest of them exactly, but lamictal...no good to just stop either. And the rest of them either.
I'm not trying to lecture you about this at all. You are an adult and can make your own decisions. But I hope you are able to find relief and know that there are people who would be miserable if anything were to happen to you. It takes a while sometimes, but it does get better. It's just waiting for it that is hard. Please keep fighting and take care of yourself. ![]() ps- you're not dumb, you're just in pain |

It's common for many people with BP to stop their meds once they're feeling better. I'm guilty myself. But if you want to continue feeling better, you have to take the meds to keep stable. You sound like you have a very supportive fam that loves you and wants to see you well. They obviously saw something that you didn't when you quit the meds. Just try to have total med compliance and if you have an issue, bring it up with pdoc at next appointment. Please take care of yourself.
