I've been suffering from increased anxiety and have noticed at its peak, I get nauseous and more often than not vomit. It's been happening almost weekly and I've had to go home twice from work during especially critical times frustrating my coworkers. Does anyone else vomit w/extreme anxiety?

Yeah, and I've done it three times in the past week. The good thing is that I can go right back to work so long as I have a gatorade to sip on. I met with my pdoc and we rearranged my medications and the times I take them and so far it's helping.

Yes. When pain is high, so is my anxiety and the combo has made me vomit. Not sure if I've ever vomited solely from anxiety, but I wouldn't doubt it. I get anxiety without even knowing I'm anxious. How that works, I'm not sure. Try a hot shower and keep a bucket to the side.

Is there anything you know of which helps ease your anxiety?

I had a boyfriend once who would immediately start dry-heaving when he was upset. I get really nauseous when anxious, and I have emetophobia, so it's a vicious cycle. ativan helps immensely (though I think it's a pretty evil drug). zofran shuts down my nausea completely, which makes me less anxious. besides medication, I find cold water (splash your face with freezing water or take freezing shower if you're at home) and breathing/mindfulness exercises very helpful. also - distraction!

I definitely splash cold water on my face, unfortunately bending down and back up again kind of cancels out the cold water effect. I agree with you about benzo's being the devil. I've only been prescribed them a few times but I'm not a fan of them. Thanks for the advice

Just had nausea. I take domperidone, and antacid.
And low dose of benzodiazepine.
1 hour past. Now i feel better.
I realize it because of my anxiety just now.
Cannot practice any calming technique because im on the way. So the fastest is meds.

Juz want to sharing each other.
Correct me if i wrong
Thank you

I don't get nauscious but I do experience stomach difficulties directly related to anxiety. I belong to a monthly support group for people that have 'sensory' reactions to their anxiety. Many in my group do in fact get sick and vomit in response to their severe anxiety.

I have tried gravol. I have tried tums/rolaids. I have tried not drinking coffee. I have recently started lemon and peppermint oil (a drop in waarm water) and it seems to help.

Peppermint tea is good for stomach distress. It's not helping with what I have going on now though. My meds are really screwing with ma belly!!!!! Stomach issues suck, especially when you are not sure what causes them.
