What are some things that people tend to blame BP for? For example, my old pdoc tried to blame my ADHD problems on BP, and I disagree with that.
On the other hand, consider this example: sometimes people blame their BP for certain destructive behaviors they have when they're not in an episode. In that case, I don't think BP causes you to do something like, say, hardcore street drugs. You do those drugs because you want to, not because BP "makes" you do it. |

It's hard to say because each of are symptoms are different, the length of stability is different, and our moods are different. Things my husband wants to do in episode is things like hard core drugs. Thank god he doesn't know any dealers. Some cheat, I don't see that as a bp thing but some do. I could see myself loosing touch with the reality enough to hurt someone, others can't. So to me there's a huge difference between bp did it and taking responsibility anyway. You're still responsible for what you do in episode because it's still you just with less inhabitions.

I see far too many people today blaming without taking responsibility for their actions, regardless of the reasons behind the behavior? Just because we have BP does not make us helpless. |

I once complained to some person about a seminar paper I was supposed to be writting and that I have no idea what to do because we had one class out of 6 and nobody gave us instructions.
Their advice was to go to my pdoc for some xanax. Which I found very strange.
