Is it easier to withstand the cold, cold weather, when your (more or less) manic, regardless of whether you do more? Likewise, do you have more difficulties, you notice it more, when depressed?
I do. I used to be hypomanic (obviously at times), and especially those times (I think, possibly) I had the least problems with it, standing outside with only a shirt on in the winter, to give an example. I think more manic than that will cause your (mild) hypersensitivity to offset that. Just a thought. Maybe it's that. Maybe only at times (I think so).

Mania kills cells. Brain cells die. Memories become more reduced conceptually, making more efficient use of limited means. Memories shape our reality. Our memories are more or less split in two by abstractions, conceptual reductions. Mood states with memories, concepts, attached. Memories of pain and those of joy. It causes instability, changeability. Fearing that will leave an emptiness between pain and joy and a greater divide. See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me, Heal Me. |

I'm not at all sensitive to the cold. In fact, I love the cold (so Sweden suits me). But I have a very low tolerance to heat. I absolutely hate hot weather. It makes me cranky and irritable and those feelings definitly intensify when I am manic.

For me, yes. I'm very sensitive to both heat and cold. I wasn't when I was younger though. The older I get, the more temperature sensitive I become. When I'm manic, I can handle heat and cold much better. I will stay outside in shorts in winter and do aerobics outside in the heat of summer.

Where I live it can get to -45 in the winter (-49 Farenheit) to +35 (95 Farenheit) in summer. I'd take -30 over +30 any day

It's not uncommon for me to be on the depressive side during winters and on the more hypo side during spring / summer.
I find winters awful at best. Bring on summer anyway! |
