I could probably post this on the anxiety thread, but all my favorite people are here

For the last few weeks, when I lay in bed at night, my brain races non-stop. I lay there and get filled with anxiety worrying about work, bills, family, my health, etc. It takes me a good couple hours AT LEAST to fall asleep anymore. I get so anxious I feel my heart drop and feel sick to my stomach.

Does anyone else experience this? Have found anything that helps?

It's kind of out of the "norm" for me. I do take gabapentin at night to help with sleep and anxiety. It's just been off the hook lately!!

Try listening to guided meditations. I have racing thoughts at night, too. Guided meditations help me. You can find some for free on YouTube. Good luck!

I listen to books on tape low, so I struggle a bit to hear. It calms me sometimes. (((Hugs)))

I have a familiar movie that's funny and enjoyable in the background on low when I try and sleep/ It always puts me in a happy mood before I drift off to sleep.

Hope you get some good rest soon!! ((hugs))

Have that problem, too. It make the next day really tough. Last week I started using a meditation app called buddhify when I want to go to sleep, can't sleep, waking up, or some of the other categories.

Half of the time, I still have trouble falling asleep, but it's been a 1 hour delay, instead of countless hours, so I've gotten at least 7 hours of sleep, sometimes more. I don't know how it will work for me long term, but I'm used to switching strategies as they become useful.

Hope you get a good night sleep.
