I used to drink a lot, then slowed down to a glass of wine during special occasions. Nowadays I don't drink at all due to my meds.

I no longer drink. It seems counter intuitive to drink something that deprives my body of water when I need water to prevent Lithium toxicity. The fun is gone for me.

I used to drink when I was on Paxil (many yes ago) I would usually black out and wonder what happen. This can be scary! I would damage my car, wake up in someone's bed, been told I was pulled over by police and they let the unknown person drive or leave my car somewhere and wake up wondering what happen and where it was. I rarely drink, especially since I'm on various medications and don't want to be sick. And trying not to be that crazy drunk anymore

I don't like to drink for fun because I am a control freak and I don't like to feel like I don't have control over my body. So at parties and such I either tend to drink to much and get out of control, or I spend the whole night worrying about if I've drank too much.
But, I do like drinking alone, having a nice glass of wine with dinner for example. I tend to crave alcohol more when I'm depressed, so I'm really trying to be careful, I don't want to slip in the trap of self medicating...

I seldom drink anything alcoholic due to some of the medication I'm taking.

No I don't drink AT ALL. I don't like the taste of any of it. I don't do any kind of illegal drugs either. I do smoke and drink lots of coffee, that's as strong as it goes.
Every time I go manic, the hospital wants to test me for drugs. Next time though they got another thing coming. I have decided I am not going to let them. How many drug tests do I have to come up clean on for them to decide I don't do drugs. Just like the EKG. Had one a week prior and they wanted to do it again and I said no I am not paying for that **** and told them no. They don't like being told no, but too bad. I don't like being drug tested either. |

Hendricks gin and tonic with lime
Or Balvenie single malt Or a frosty Peroni Or some Koppelberg pear cider Every day. Wasted after dinner. Yes, I know I have a problem, but sobriety is worse...... |

I do drink, and have actually found myself drinking more than I used to ever since my diagnosis. I'm guessing it's my way of self-medicating to hide the pain.
