Seroquel.

Which would you rather have: BPD or BP?

BP; I prefer a known entity.

What is the rarest side effect you've ever had?

I don't know if it's rare but risperdal was making my throat close up. Caused a lot of coughing.

Are you on a sleep schedule?

Pretty much. I usually get almost 8 hours or more of sleep per night. I should be in bed right now but I'm a little hypo. About to wind down for the evening with some meditation and Xanax.

Do you try to calm down your hypomania or do you just let it ride out?

I am frequently hypo. My p-doc lets me stay there as long as we keep a close eye on it.

Can you tell what is your real personality and what is mood related, either up or down?

7 including PRNs, 5 excluding PRNs

Do you have to take meds/supplements/etc to counter side effects of your psych meds?

No.

Do you ever think BP is just caused by or a collection of, character flaws?

I don't know but I'll make it my question here:

Question: What's the worst way in which bipolar has affected your life?

Hard to say exactly because I haven't had many periods of stability ever. But the last 2 years have sucked pretty badly so I guess I'll go with that one.

How many meds have you tried?

It was actually the other day. A REALLY young pharmacist was smirking at me when I asked if a new blood pressure medication I was taking had any interactions with my bipolar meds. I felt like smacking that smirk off her face!

What's your current favorite bipolar medication (that you feel like has helped you the most)?

Emsam and Clozaril (neither would be sufficient without the other).

Do you get a lot of cavities from dry mouth? (I do and my teeth are discolored and I HATE it).

A few days ago. my friend Josh was over and I had told him that my neighbor across the street and his live-in son were accusing each other of smoking meth. I told Josh that I was going through a weird compulsive cleaning phase and Josh asked if I had been smoking meth with my neighbor or his son. I laughed so hard I stopped breathing for a while. Full med load.

Do you maintain a surplus of meds for emergencies, or will things just burn that much brighter as you go into untreated illness and withdrawal symptoms during a crisis? The first few weeks of any pharmacological supply interruption to Oahu will be a very exciting time for me and those around me.

Questions: Bipolar version

I have a surplus because my son is bipolar also. Lucky us!

Can you sleep without a med?
