I'm sorry I thought I answered it. I push myself by getting out of bed and taking a shower and the things I mentioned earlier.

How often do you feel mania?

Not often, I experience more depression and hypomania than full blown mania.

How often do you experience depression?

It just hits me sometimes, but it doesn't happen too often anymore.

When was your last med change?

Two months ago. Went down a quarter of the old dose to feel less medicated. I think it helped. Its all in my head anyway.

How do you wake up without copious amounts of coffee and tobacco?

Well last night I just didn't sleep at all! Usually, I find the meds I am on don't make me drowsy so waking up isn't too difficult. I do have a morning coffee though, and I love it. However coffee doesn't seem to give me that kick others get. Six weeks ago I quit tobacco and wouldn't want to go back to it although I do miss it with my morning coffee.

What music are you listening to at the moment, or most recently?

It's a drink. Google it. Too complicated to describe. Needs a real bartender. EXpensive too. But you only need two.

Favorite color?.

First kiss was at age 5 with a boy named Nathan who had dry chapped lips. His older sister forced us to kiss and I hated it.

Do you think of episodes as seasons?

I can grasp the analogy, but I don't typically view them as such. An ER doctor once told me that life has many "seasons" and that while it bleak, cold and winter like for me now, the sun will shine again soon.

Do you partake in any unhealthy coping mechanisms?

Tobacco, of the chewing variety. It is soothing. It also wakes me up to encourage me to walk downstairs and make a French press. Say what you want, but no dry mouth and never had a cavity. I know its bad.

What is your longest stay at the mental hospital?

Do you get a private room in your hospital?

Yes I did. It was wonderful.

When you were in the hospital, what made them release you? For me it was that I slept a full night without waking everyone up!

My husband was a unit supervisor at our local state hospital. Since he had mental health training, the doctors (with reservations) decided to release me into his care. Between him and my mom, I had 24/7 round the clock 1 to 1 care and that was more than the hospital could provide so they released me (thank goodness) I also lied and said the medication worked a little.

Have you ever lied about symptoms to avoid going IP?

Yes I have. Every time I see my therapist and psychiatrist basically. I think I am going to stop doing that cause its not really fair to myself.

Do you feel better without meds?
