When I'm depressed I need the house to clean itself.

What's the silliest thing you have ever done manic?

Years ago I looked up random phone numbers in the phone book and called strangers and talked to them about odd things. It was surprising how many people would talk to me for long periods.

Have you ever lost a friendship or relationship due to your BP?

Yes. Many. Though, I didn't know it was BP at the time.

How many different BP medications have you tried?

I don't need BP for that.

I tried none. Never tried lithium. But I probably should.

Are you in some way, a better person when manic?

I think when I'm stable enough I would make a good leer advocate, it'd be hard work, but U think I could do it.

What is your favorite song that you can relate to?

Unwell by Matchbox 20 was written for just for me.

How much, if at all, does the stigma of bipolar effect you?

I'm on disability which I think attaches a lot of stigma. The stigma from bipolar I've only encountered three times. I've lost two friends, and my old MD was afraid to be alone in the room with me.

Looking back how old were you when you first started having symptoms of bipolar disorder?

I don't think I ever didn't have symptoms. I never slept normally, even as a newborn and infant.

How long do you usually spend with your pdoc?

Like fifteen minutes with the new one. It makes me anxious and uneasy.

What are your tricks for functioning when you feel like you can't?

Yeah but it didn't last a year. Usually I just kind of annoy people b/c I'm typically the only manic one Last summer I was depressed and got along well with others but lost touch when I got sicker

Ever spend a holiday IP?

Yes but so far I've made it without June mania so Clozaril seems to be working. Thank God. Next risky time is November.

Do you use health apps like a mood tracker, med reminder, etc?

No, I tend to forget about the apps, but I do keep a diary card for my DBT therapy.

If you have pets, do you think they're helpful when you're having a bad day, or can they sense something's not right?

I don't have a pet so I don't know. But I do believe cats know when things are off. There were a couple of strays around my house that I "connected" with when I was manic telepathically. Yes I am aware that sounds crazy but I was manic!

When was your last hospitalization for bipolar?
