What is one thing that brightens your day no matter what mood you're in?

Basically, whether you're hypo/manic, mixed, or depressed, there has to be something that brightens your day. For example, if you have kids, maybe your kids brighten your day.

Taking long walks with a good friend of mine. I'm fortunate to live near the ocean so I walk on or near it or around a beautiful pond over here with egrets and great blue herons. It helps to talk while walking. Helps with anxiety especially. If I'm depressed it temporarily lifts my mood slightly, but it's something.

The last time I was hypo/manic I didn't live anywhere near nature (in a big city), so I don't know if and how it might help me in that state, though after a while like that I desperately feel like I need to move around, I feel like I have bugs crawling around inside of me, very agitated, moving around/walking (wherever) may help a bit.

Watching sea otters in their natural habitat (as opposed to on a live cam from the aquarium, which I also like), I love them, they're so chill and adorable!

So walking in nature and sea otters, sorry -two things!

I can honestly say that seeing my daughter always brightens my day.
Catching fish always brightens my day.
I know thats two things but they never fail to brighten my day.

That sounds awesome!

I love the ocean. I live very close to it too, except I'm on the east coast.

I agree that sea otters are fun to watch. In general, I just love going to the local aquarium here to watch all the sea animals and fish. I also like watching walruses and penguins. Penguins are so cool!

That's great

I've never gone fishing before, but I can imagine it's very relaxing.

Do you go fishing in the ocean, or is it mostly lakes and ponds?

Seeing my wife when she gets home from work, especially if I had a bad day alone.

A good cup of coffee. It's something so simple, and I can make it no matter what mood I'm in, or I can go to the coffee shop.
Thanks for this!

Usually talking to my mom is the bright spot in my day. We haven't lived in the same state for over 10 years so it's hard sometimes. We do try to communicate either via texts or phone at least once a day, but when she's out of the country that isn't always possible.

I know it's cliche but my son always brightens my day. Even when he's being a complete hellion and driving me crazy, he will just randomly run up to me and say "mommy, you're beautiful". I love how sweet he is.

Yes, that is true

When I'm depressed, I have a very supportive friend who talks to me and helps me pull through even my darkest depressions. She always brightens my day because I know there is someone out there who cares and is willing to listen

That I'm alive. That I have family. That I have my wife. And a few friends too. My dogs.

I have one of those friends as well. Her husband suffers from depression and anxiety so she knows what it's like to some degree.

My two dogs and cat. Brother and sister Shih tzus, and a rescue kitten (now 6 years old) who all grew up together. They come running to the door when I come home, usually the dogs first with the cat trotting behind them. When I lay back in the recliner all three will jump on me and jockey and jostle for the best position to snuggle.

Even though I'm really depressed lately, my cat brightens my day, especially when he cuddles with me. He brings me out of a meltdown , And calms my anxiety a bit.

I like both both but I mostly fish in the ocean.
I live right on the coast so that makes it a bit easier.
