I've been around here quite a long time now...

I would like to see some threads back that are about Treating Bipolar all around.... Healthy living, sleep hygiene, problems with self care and say cleaning issues, learning more coping skills, Ideas on what healthy food can help off set the weight gain that psych meds often cause.... and it not just be Meds Meds Meds... " call your Pdoc" " you need a med adjustment /change"

We use to have a lot of alternative ideas around here and whatnot but that has really fallen to the way side.

A while back I posted a Thread about having a IP stay and I wanted to share that it was very helpful and positive.... Responses??? Most everyone complained about how shytty and terrible IP is... Sure there are lousy places ... But My positive thread turned into a total downer and I was getting PM's saying I was lying

I also think its helpful if a member is having a on going problem that instead of making a new thread(s) daily just keep adding onto the original one.. Why? Well for a couple reasons... It's easier for people to kind of follow along and not have to read 3 different threads and try to piece together info so advice can be given.... And of course lots of threads are just getting pushed down into page 2 or 3 and that could be why some people are not getting much in way of responses and feeling left out.

Anywho.. Just my opinions

A positive self-care/coping toolbox of ideas would make a great Stickie.

Sorry guys, nothing of substance to add that haven't already been said, but I will say this is a great forum.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel like outcasts.

Personally, I enjoy reading posts from all of you, and I think you guys have contributed a lot to this forum already. I'm sure others feel this way too.

i don't think any of us want you to feel like you're outcasts. This forum is a support group, and we appreciate everyone who contributes, even though it might not seem that way to you guys.

Please do continue to post the great things you have to say

You have a lot of great ideas.

I do see quite a lot of posts asking about weight gain and trying to stay healthy, and I agree there is no "centralized place" to find this information. You have to go digging quite a bit to find what you want.

Maybe this is/isn't a great idea, but it's along the same vein... It would be nice if we posted a "weight gain and healthy eating" thread (like you're suggesting) which includes a list of meds which cause weight gain... because I also see a lot of people asking about which meds cause weight gain and which ones are weight neutral. Maybe I'll make this thread

It'd be nice if such threads were stickied too. I mean, we already have a stickied thread about helpful bipolar books. Why not other useful threads?

And wow, I'm so sorry that people accused you of lying about IP. That's horrible. I'm also sorry your thread turned into a downer. Admittedly, I am a bit guilty of turning threads into a downer, but I'll try not to do that anymore

Also, yeah... some people do get frustrated when their posts land on page 2 or 3. I felt that way when I first joined.. I wanted to join in, and I felt bad that people didn't post much in my threads

Sure, can you elaborate? Or just give a fake scenario. I'm not quite sure what you mean.

I don't mind anything that is posted here. Some posts are helpful others are complaining
some are just folks reaching out for some contact. It's all good with me.
I have come to realize that there are some folks that will never post on any of my threads
and some that ignore me completely, that is ok because that is their choice and it in the big
picture it doesn't bother me much.
So post what ever you want and what ever helps to make you feel better.
There are many good people here that always try to help and that's what this is all about.
I may not always have the answers for people that I respond to but at least they get a response
and I try to help with my silly humor or with the pics I post in SALTWATER LIVING.
We do the best we can. I know I know I'm rambling a bit.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
