In this bipolar forum, what would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of?

Anything you find particularly annoying? It's okay to say if I'm annoying. I don't bite..

Anything fascinating? Anything not so fascinating?

I think it's good for us to assess what's going well and not so well. After all, this forum is for support, and if we're not doing a good job at it, we should fix it
Thanks for this!

Piri leaves the heavy lifting to you and others more qualified than piri.

Don't care about being annoying (or idiotic, obsessive or depressing). That should be the first thing to care about.

But don't dismiss people, anyone in particular or a type of person.

But don't feel guilty or ashamed if you do any of that. We've seen worse: ourselves, uncensored, all of it.

I'm very fond of this forum. I feel like it is where I belong. Sometimes I wish I shared more but then I don't know what to write. I guess that's my issue lol

That said, I'm good with change, too, so I'll go with the flow!

The forum could also use a repaint. It looks shytty.

That's not a swear word: it's an accurate, objective, neutral description.

I'm not sure how to present this, so bear with me.

I would like to feel more like I mattered as a human being. To achieve this I would suggest some sort of one-to-one contact. The thing is, I don't know how to set this up in a way that it doesn't become old and empty.

I haven't noticed any problem, but I'm generally not observant so that doesn't mean much. I like it here.

Could you elaborate more on what you mean by "one-to-one contact"?

Do you feel like you're a bit of an outcast? I hope not

Fair enough. Sometimes it gets overwhelming when a lot of people complain at once -- but I won't deny that I've complained before. I know where you're coming from, though.

In general, I'm pretty lax myself. I like to make fun threads to offset some of the negativity, although lately I've been trying to relate my threads more toward BP

We could do a sticky designated for Members Needing Support Right Now....not suicide but if you're freaking out that's the go to thread for immediate support. So your thread doesn't get buried in the main forum.

I used to moderate a website that used it and it worked pretty well.

i do, actually.

What if there were a check-in thread specifically designed for us to -by name- touch base with the person above?

1. Good morning, all.
2. Good morning, blue. How are you today?
3. A bit down, but ok. Thanks for asking, Gaby.
4. Gaby, I know you've been hypomania this week. How are you?
5. Hello, vertigo, I'm fair to middlin', thanks.
6. Hey, vert, how're you today?
7. Well, RainyDay, it's turning into a tough week.

Does that makes sense? Each number is a new post.

This did make me think of having little login indicators so we can see who's online.

It's like a hybrid between "Questions: Bipolar version" and the Bipolar Check-In thread.

It's a good idea. I think you should post it.

Not sure what you could call it. Maybe just "Touch base with the person above" ??? No idea. I'm not good with names. But i like the idea.

Or you could make up a totally weird name like "The magical BP friendship thread"
Thanks for this!

I was kinda feeling like an outcast. I'm stable so felt like I didn't fit in. And I'm boring. Nothing major happening...

I like this idea. I'm not very good at posting support for others (except hugs, and I really mean them ) But I often just can't figure out what to say in a group setting as far as support, but one on one like that I think I might feel more comfortable, if this makes sense.

Maybe we could challenge each other more, i.e. re assumptions about what are and are not -per DSM stuff maybe, pdocs- symptoms of bipolar vs problems but not due to BP. For informational purposes. The problem is doing this without coming off as unsupportive.
Thanks for this!

Bipolar sux, there will be complaining
What about stability related posts, that isn't necessarily a "success story"

I enjoy it here, but I feel like a complete outcast, and I did when I was here previously. So, I've given up for the most part.

As I said I think this is a great idea -maybe you could call it 'personal/individual check in thread?' or something like that? Maybe people can brainstorm names for it on this thread?

You're not alone, I feel the same way, not only online, but in real life too...But I'm not as stable right now.

Sorry guys, nothing of substance to add that haven't already been said, but I will say this is a great forum.

I guess what I'd like is more replies to the few threads I've started.
