I woke up today ready to scream. Mixed with agitation, anger, dysphoria. I gave in and took a few benzos and slept it off. But once those wore off, it was back with a vengeance. I usually take risperdal PRN for it but that stopped working and it stopped my periods. I used to take saphris and it seemed to help but I had to stop taking it because it made me stop sleeping and now I just read it can also stop your period. And on top of it, my stabilizer (trileptal) pooped out on me and a higher dose made my vision very bad (crossed eyes etc kinda scary!). So I'm at a loss here!
Pdoc called and said my normal dr moved out of state and I had to see a new one. Thanks for the warning right?! And I can't get in early because my car needs plates on it. Wtf do I do here?! Sorry that turned into a rant. Bottom line, I need something that will stop this anger and agitation. Makes me want to crawl out of my own skin!! Plus, there are people in my house that have to put up with my cranky ***! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hey Hun,
Ugh, I'm sorry you are feeling so bad right now. Mixed states are awful. I recommend Geodon. You will get a deep sleep but I've never had grogginess waking up, like with Seroquel. The one thing is that you have to eat 500 calories when you take it. Otherwise it won't metabolize properly. 500 calories of anything you want. It comes in generic and starts with a Z. That sucks about your pdoc....the same darn thing just happened to my boyfriend. He was like what?! See if you can get a script for Geodon. I wake up feeling good after taking it and haven't had weight gain or noticeable side effects. ![]() |

My mixed states are difficult to budge but Zyprexa seems to help but I gain weight on it. I am in a bad one now and my pdoc has increased my Lithium, added Lamotrigine and Latuda and taken me off Saphris. He is trying very hard to help but my brain has it's own ideas. I guess it just needs time.
I am so sorry you are feeling so crap and have no pdoc near you at the moment. If it gets bad can you take yourself to ER to be assessed and hopefully given better meds? Maybe for now you can chew on benzos to keep yourself sane. Don't apologise for ranting you have a lot going on right now.

Sorry you're going through this and you haven't had much luck with meds. I think Benzos don't last long, so I'm not surprised that the symptoms came back with a vengeance. I'm not sure what to suggest except asking your new pdoc to help you try another AP you haven't tried yet, PRN or otherwise. Meanwhile, can you get out and take a walk or otherwise do something to rid yourself of all of this excess energy?

For those of you on geodon... Would it make me throw up since Latuda made me violently ill? It says on my medical app that geodon is good for agitation ect.
I had a huge episode today that brought me to the ER. A bad reaction to my stabilizer so now I can't take that anymore. I'm screwed but my pdoc got me in for next Friday. Really?! I have to wait that effing long? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I use hydroxyzine pamoate and then get myself into a calm space if I can. I will call a time out when I am in those agitated states, and given I'm not working until next month, that's easy to do.
Plus it helps with my allergies. |

Risperidone helped a bit with my dysphoric, psychotic mania. It took awhile for it to really go away, but it started getting better when I took the drug.

I like Risperdal for agitation, so sorry I'm not much help with a suggestion for a AP. Bee Pollen (natural supplement you get from a Health Food store) helps with my mixed episodes, though, if I can't take extra AP. Maybe it would help some before you can get in to see the pdoc? Good luck!

I blast metal music and get so into it that I end up using up a lot of the energy.
