I'm really sorry that you're in the middle of a really ****** situation. I don't have that experience, but many of my friends did in the past, and you can get past it too. It's expensive, the system is yucky, to say the least. But, for my friends, it was like hitting bottom, and then they started to rebuild. You will be ok. And then, bit by bit, better.

I am also sorry you are in a tough situation.

I feel empathy for you and also want to let you know the idea of "quitting" or thinking your life is over is based on deceitful distortions. Don't be taken in by distorted thinking.

There's a new life ahead for you. This is good news!

Sometimes life takes a massive s*** on your face, but you gotta do your best to wipe that s*** off. It's not going to be easy, but it's definitely possible. You just gotta focus on the positive possibilities.

If you're a Debbie downer, you'll be a self-fulfilling prophecy, and no one wants that. You have to stay positive and use this situation as a lesson learned.

But seriously, please don't think your life is over. As the saying goes: s*** happens. Everyone screws up at least once in their life. Besides, you can't change the past, but you CAN change the future. So, don't dwell on what happened; focus on what you can do to make yourself right.

Just remember: If you don't try, you're not going to get what you want. So do yourself some good and focus on how you're going to make yourself a better person from this point forward. You'll be pleasantly surprised with what you can do.

Don't give up! Your life is far from over. And welcome to the forums. You will find support here. Are you in the middle of an episode? Do you have a therapist to talk about this with? Are you safe? As others have said, this may be your rock bottom. A horrible place to be but it can only get better once this situation plays itself out. Sending love and hugs.

Maybe this is rock bottom for you? It would be for many people. Take this as a chance to get yourself better to prevent this from happening again. You said DUI so I'm guessing theres a drinking issue? Time to start the self healing process. I don't know. I just hope you're ok.

I am so sorry! I've never received a DUI, but I have done things which caused me to think my life was over and that I needed to end it all because of it. That is a terrible place to be and I'm so sorry you are going through this right now. My brother received a DUI years ago. It was expensive, but other than monetary loss, his life was not effected. He went on to get married and adopt 4 kids. Things are bad right now, but don't fall into thinking they will always be bad. We are here if you need us. Welcome to PC, I hope you will stick around so we can support you through this.

Is there anyone in your life who can be with you right now? Do you have the option of going IP? Have you called around to get legal counsel? I really think you need to get medical help right now. I wish I had more experience with this issue so I could offer more practical advise. I really have no clue what to suggest in a situation like this. Maybe you could go to a local AA meeting. Something tells me you might be able to receive proper advise and practical solutions there. I bet a few people at the meetings will have been through this and can help you know what to expect and what is best to do.
Thanks for this!
