Anyone have difficulty making important decisions because your moods flip-flop?

I have a REALLY important decision to make and I keep flip-flopping, constantly. I would post about what it is, but it's so important that I can't risk anyone reading about it at this time.

I can tell you that I have good reason to need to make a decision and strong reasons to pick a certain choice, but I am afraid my bipolar is influencing me to make the wrong decision. It's a decision I can't make purely on fact, I need to have strong feelings about it, too. Unfortunately, my feelings keep changing.

I'm so confused.

Can you talk to someone about it? Make a list of positives / negatives and choose that way? Talking it out works best for me.

MM has some great ideas. How soon do you have to make the decision? Will your mood changes effect doing this thing you are deciding on? Sometimes we need to do things regardless of how we feel. This of course depends on what it is. I hope you are able to make a positive decision soon and find peace about it.

I can definately relate. When I'm depressed I can't make a decision to save my life...when manic I make super quick and often odd decisions. When I'm stable I still have trouble with decisions and can relate to not feeling confident the BP is influencing you. There are some good ideas here, I hope you find something helpful. Good luck...I know all too well how confusing it can be. (((Hugs)))

I feel very similar to Elsa, my moods definitely have an impact on my decision making. When depressed decisions are a no go, when manic, I'll literally change my whole life in a split second, it's how I changed majors, then dropped out of college (oops). When I'm stable I'm at least able to think things through a bit more clearly.
Sending you lots of hugs, and hope you make the decision that is best for you!

I once was told that if you have all the facts, you really don't have to make a decision. The facts lead you to the correct choice all the time. If you don't have all the facts, you are just guessing. Good luck! I hope it works out for you.
