Since stopping 80mg of Latuda five days ago I have been experiencing the following symptoms; extreme fatigue, sleeping a lot, tightness in chest and high levels of anxiety.

Has anyone else experienced withdrawal symptoms when stopping Latuda? This is worrying me as it effects my ability to work and study. I just hope it passes soon. I was on it for 2 and a half months.

Did you literally go from 80 to 0? I had serious withdrawals just going from 40 to 0. I wish I had stepped it down by 20 instead of 40.

I got severe depression when I stopped taking it. I had suicidal thoughts. I was literally too depressed to notice any other side effects.

Yes, I went from 80 to 0. How long did the depression last?

What made you stop cold turkey like that?

I got off 120 mg of Latuda recently after being on it for 3 or so years. Went from 120 to 60 to 30, to 30 every other day, then none. Each step down was a week or two. My withdrawals were brief once I hit 0 mg (maybe 2 weeks?), including irritability, fatigue, and other weird feelings.

Good luck!!!

I was fed up with feeling brain dead and didn't expect withdrawals. The Latuda wasn't working for my depression anyway.

I just took 40mg of Latuda and may try staying on that dose for a week or so and go down slower. I just can't function like this with the withdrawals. It is horrible.

I ramped down slowly and carefully from an utterly ineffective 80 mg/day and suffered weeks of paralyzing anxiety attacks in withdrawal. Latuda blows. You can tell my doc is being paid to push it... there are open color-coded boxes of samples in various doses arranged on his roll-top desk like dishes of different varieties of candy. I've hired a Japanese attorney who specializes in pharmacological malpractice; the smug pricks at Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma can send me my damages by international bank wire transfer, and I think I like my doctor's property in Manoa.

I feel the same.

I thought it was interesting how Latuda was my *first* medication that I tried after Lexapro sent me into mania. We never tried any generic first.

Or lithium: dirt cheap, effective, enjoying new recognition as a viable treatment compared to all these newfangled very expensive drugs with their bright candy sample packaging, prescription kickbacks and exciting side effects.

I enjoy Latuda. Changed from 40 to 20 once. Felt a lil more crestive.

Wander, how is the self-medicating these days? Hope you are better soon!

I am on my second day of back up to 40 mg. Felt much worse yesterday. Hoping for more stability this week. More creativity is what I am looking for. Seeing my pdoc next week and will make a taper plan then. I need more help with meds too as this depression is relentless and worsening.

As for self medicating I stopped pot a few months ago and eased up on the alcohol but last night I snapped and thought **** it! So I drank quite a bit. Now I regret it as I know it doesn't help the moods.

I have been very unwell now for three months, and really 9 months with a few breaks. I am fed up with it and hope I get better soon too. Thanks.
