I hope you can get a dog after you move, Coyote! They are so wonderful to have around. They make me smile even when I'm at my worst

The beautiful weather is bringing me joy at the moment. I spent the afternoon outside with my family, took a short bike ride, and breathed fresh air. It was a fantastic counter for the gloomy winter weather that has been plaguing us for so long. I also got a good night's sleep last night, so that puts a positive spin on things.

Thanks again for this thread, WC. It was and is a fantastic idea.

Dear Wander, I totally understand being numb with depression!!! Yep. Well, you've got a good list of things that HAVE or COULD give you joy. I know how HARD this would be, but could you get up the energy to go turn on your stereo?

I also know, that when I am numb with depression, I sorta kinda don't want to come out of it. I don't know why that is? Actually I think what it is, is that I'm scared that if I go UP, I will crash down again, so I'd be better off just staying down, and getting used to it. NOT a good idea, because ANYHOW we always come back up eventually anyway. So we might aw well help ourselves to do that.

Spoken like I'm a "great success" at this, certainly NOT. You've probably heard all this advice before....

Such wonderful, joyful things, everyone!

Well, in honor of Wild Coyote, who started this great thread, I will say that being in Nature and Wild Animals gives me joy. I've been backpacking twice, and that gave me joy. That was years and years ago, but I will never forget the crystal clear lake we skinny-dipped in, being alone in the forest, seeing the reflection of a huge mountain in the lake. Heaven! We had great weather, too.

April the giraffe finally gave birth! An adorable little male calf...he actually galloped a little bit around the stall when he was only a few hours old. Feisty little guy! Super sweet!

Although I'm in a dark place right now, writing and reading a good book bring me joy. My dog and now memories of her being me joy. A good song with a catchy beat can bring a smile to my face.
