Which of your current or past meds have done more harm than good?

Mine: Lexapro. Either it has caused rapid cycling or it has exacerbated the rapid cycling that I have. Regardless of which one it has caused, it has made matters worse!

Trazodone and Luvox both reduced me to a foaming at the mouth, blithering idiot, no better than a zombie.

Me too raspberry I have been in this endless cycle of trying to titrate off, and then having an episode and my doc will up it again. I hate the substance, it is worse than opiates. I have been told that I may have to come to terms with the fact that I may be dependent on it for the rest of my life.

Zyprexa and Seroquel both made me gain massive amounts of weight

Lamictal...got the dreaded rash, which sucked because I felt like it was just starting to work for me

Zoloft..Super manic

Abilify...the mania, anxiety, akathisia and suicidal ideation was so bad I wanted to pull my brain out

Latuda--stepped up the dosage to what should have been a therapeutic level and I couldn't really breathe. Thought the 1st attempt was a fluke so I tried again the next night. No. I lived in a rural area, was home by myself and hated the ER docs at the nearest hospital. So I laid on the sofa and focused on breathing for a few hours--and tried to not freak out.

Abilify--So manic and OCD that I couldn't even sit still. Woke up at 5am to cook elaborate meals, weed the yard by hand, and spot clean the house almost every day. So angry when anyone interrupted or "messed up" my cleaning. Fell asleep by taking ambien at 8 or 9pm because it was dark and I was bored (because I couldn't sit still to write, or paint or watch tv).
Possible trigger:

Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, and Remeron: lots of weight gain and I was always hungry
(Risperdal also made my hands and feet swell up)

Depakote: stopped mania but killed off any desire to do stuff

Benzos: didn't stop the anxiety but kept me pretty stoned otherwise

Effexor (went manic/psychotic), Zoloft (tried killing my Mom, made me gain weight, I was 12/13yrs old), Celexa (went hypo, I was 12yrs old, tried beating up a kid in the PHP program I was in, ended up inpatient) Respridal (made me gain 50pounds at the age of 12/13) Depakote (made my throat swell), Abilify (way too activating if it wasn't for my Lamictal I probably would've ended up in a mixed episode/dysphoric mania), Welbutrin, (ended up hypo for 2mnts, then went into a dysphoric mania, my Latuda, and Lamictal doses were too small to do anything as I was on 300mg XL version), yet I want back on it for the hypomania, stupid I know... Latuda, (worked well for the depression, but couldn't handle the nausea at the higher doses if I didn't eat exactly 350 calories with it), may try this one again if the Geodon doesn't work...

Latuda, horrible akathisia.
Zyprexa, worked well to put me to sleep but awful weight gain.
Seroquel, made me feel like a zombie and weight gain.
Geodon, akathisia.

I'm now on Invega and not having any major side effects.

Oh crap! I've never been on meds, but it was suggested to me at my first session. I suspect they will push even harder the more I tell them about. I'm pretty scared I'll end up doing something on meds, or wake up from a fog somewhere having done something bad because of meds. Reading peoples bad experiences, sends a chill up my spine.
