So hi. I missed my morning meds about 2 weeks ago. I had a really bad time for a week and am slowly mentally trying to recover from it. I need to buy one of the meds box dispenser things.

Have any of you missed a dose and how has it effected you? How do you recover from it?

Occasionally I miss a dose and I'm ok. If I go several days of missing doses if effects my mood and I can tell....usually depression sets in, I have a pill box and rarely miss doses now

I have to agree with hopeless. If I miss one or two days of meds, I do put myself in danger of a hypo-manic episode. But I usually catch it well before that happens. Nowadays anyway. I think I used to want that up feeling, but now I'm happier being stable.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. It may or may not relate to missing one medication. As it is with so many med warnings, if you miss one med, take it the next time it is due, unless it is very close to when you missed it. Then take it right away

Like I said, I've never had such an extreme response, but everyone is different. I'm interested in what others have to contribute to the conversation. I suggest you talk it over with your doctor, nurse, or therapist. It also can depend on what kind of medication it is. Don't wait!!!

One of my meds.will cause withdrawals if I miss a dose (yuck), but the other one just keeps me in depression if I miss a day or.two doses.

I get depression if I miss a dose for a couple of days in a row.

If I forget Lexapro, I also get horrible brain zaps

I cannot miss even one dose or I get all weird and jumpy. One day recently I forgot to take my meds in the morning and felt off-key within hours. So I've learned to keep them near the coffeemaker where I can't possibly forget them.

I use a pill case and that usually prevents me from missing meds. However, if I miss my morning meds I can usually figure it out by noon. I start to feel really weird. My mind races and I have a lot of energy. I can tell I missed my night meds when I am lying in bed unable to sleep for a couple of hours.

If I go a day without Seroquel, I certainly notice it, since I cannot really sleep without it....with the exception of times where I drink too much (which tends to be my reason for not taking it). It throws me off for a day or two and makes me feel extremely groggy, irritable, and I get intrusive thoughts. If I drank the night before, of course that makes it so much worse.

With Lamictal, I take one AM and one PM pill. I usually do not notice the first missed dose. However, if I miss two pills, I get much moodier. When I miss doses, it's definitely a wake up call for me and a warning sign that it's time to take better care of myself. Remembering that and putting my health first usually gets me back on track again. I especially try to be careful about not missing Lamictal since I see seizures is a risk as a withdrawal symptom.
