I'm feeling good today but after I ate which gave me something to do, I feel like there's nothing to do. I mean sure I can do things like play with my hair or do a facial scrub but I just don't want to, as in I can't. It seems like nothing will satisfy me and there's nothing I can do in life that will create that happiness or fullfillness I desperately need.
Now, I feel like I need to be with someone to get some enjoyment and seeking attention, even though I'm around family. I do have a friend that I just met but I didn't want to invite him over just yet because my fear of people and fear of being in an awkward situation (in which I cannot escape). Now because of this emptiness, I want to get him over as soon as possible and I don't care what happens. I picture us being close like besties (bff's) but I KNOW that's not gonna happen. At this point, I'll even play football on the video game with my brother because it looks so tempting... and I hate football. (Not really, I did like the Panthers and I find that my brother being on the football team really amusing) It's confusing, I feel so bored and empty that's im hopeless but I want to do something so bad that it's giving me extreme anxiety. I feel like nothing i can do can clinch that craving.

Sorry you're struggling right now.
![]() Sometimes, it's helpful to try some of the things you're thinking about instead of just assuming it won't help you at all. I know with my BP I can get into the place of 'all or nothing' pretty frequently. I find that just releasing a little of the pressure (whether it's anxiety, frustration, or something else) can help a lot. Try playing the video game with your brother and see if it helps, instead of assuming it won't. Maybe a handful of little things will help you to reset some. I also always try to start with some music that is uplifting or motivating - that can really help me reset my mood into something that's more open to possibility if I'm hovering on the edge of emptiness, but not already down in the depths. Perhaps that could help you to take the first step to trying something to alleviate the feelings/anxiety you're having. |

Do you have any interests or hobbies that you can do? And not only right now (although if you're bored, it's a good idea) but as a way to socialize?
I like soccer and writing and motorcycles. And through Meetup and searching online I found groups/clubs for those interests, so I'm able to 1) do stuff I'm interested in and 2) meet new people doing it. Plus, if you're in a social setting with a purpose it's easier to talk to people. "Who's your favorite soccer team?" "What book are you reading right now?" I found it really helpful and met some good friends that way. And even if you can't go join a book club today, just researching different possibilities is a way to kill some time. Another idea is a support group for mood disorders. It might help with the hopelessness and also give you an opportunity to meet people.

Thanks. These are good suggestions. I got to try to do something. Sometimes you just get stuck in this hole and it seems hopeless for anything. I don't know... maybe I'll make a goal to try something within this hour.

I don't know... right now I'm feeling like stone. I'm trying but I can't. I only want to do one thing now but I would be isolating. Right now, I'm feeling sick because my family is watching the game and the sounds, environment is making me sick. I also have sensory and migraine problems.

I also have sensory and migraine issues. When migraine activity is more sensory-related (less pain), I used to improvise. I'd still attend a movie at the theatre with my husband by wearing sunglasses and ear plugs. These types of "modifications" may or may not work for you.
We can derive a sense of (tribal) belongingness by sharing in watching a game (or other entertainment) with a group, like family. I hope you can find a sense of belongingness, peace and fulfillment. We all naturally desire these needs be met. ![]() WC P.S. many friends, both single and married, have found friends with similar interests through meet-ups.
